Mesquite Has Something Dallas Doesn't Have...A Rodeo!
Here are 3 ideas for a first date that are intended to be a little more casual and or fun, rather than romantic. If you have fun together, the romance will follow.
Casual First Date in Mesquite, Texas
If you want a non threatening place to go on a first date and you'd like it to be casual, a bookstore date is a great idea. Mesquite has a big, beautiful Borders bookstore located at 2709 North Mesquite Drive and a coffee shop/cafe inside the bookstore. You can meet your date there, even in the evening hours, and grab a coffee and a bite to eat. It's a quiet atmosphere and it will give you a chance to find out just how much in common you have with your date.
Casual/Fun First Date Place
The Texas Roadhouse restaurant located at 1420 N Peachtree Rd. is a favorite in Mesquite. Not only does the restaurant have tasty steaks, ribs, chicken and many other foods, it is reasonably priced as well. It has a fun country type atmosphere, great mixed drinks and usually pretty good service. This is a friendly place and a nice first date spot if you are in Mesquite.
Fun First Date Place
What is Mesquite, Texas known for more than anything else? The Mesquite Championship Rodeo at the Resistol Arena, of course. The Resistol Arena is located at 1818 Rodeo Dr. The rodeo runs from April-September every Friday and Saturday night and tickets cost only $12-$15. You can buy them on Ticketmaster.com or at the door. The rodeo is championship caliber and it will be a memorable first date place. They sell food (including BBQ) and alcohol and you can walk around the arena and check out the vendors before the show starts. Bull riding, bronco busting and barrel racing will make for a fun filled first date for you in Mesquite, Texas!

Post a CommentSherri, thanks for the fun ideas and the plug for the Rodeo. Just a small correction - the rodeo season now begins in June, and runs through August, every Friday and Saturday night. There are a few special rodeos in other months, so check out the CVB website at www.realtexasflavor.com.
Yep - I've got good memories of the Mesquite rodeo. (The one in Huntsville - not good, but scary to a child!)
The rodeo would be FUN!
