Metakinesthesia

Poem for the Autumnal Equinox

J L Carey Jr
(1) Playground

Whirlwind
The dead dance
Concentrical
A child like
Cadence
Spinning
Brown yellow
Merry-go-round
Dizzy they
Fall Down.

(2) Battlefield

Air raid
The troops stand
Holding their ground
Fighting back
Both green
And grey
Limbs broken
Casualties felled
Protecting
Our home

(3) Sing the Rushes

Windows
Whispers shake
Howling spirits
Whistle by
The door
Roaring
Rustling
Thundering voice
Orchestral
Then calm

(4) Embers Bed

Fairies
Fume in curls
From smoldering
Redolent
Damp mounds
Musty
Smoke coated
Aromatic mist
Stirs the nose
And leaves

(5) Buried

Winding
Natures clock
Watching life turn
In one breath
Changing
Filing
Storing these
Months of labor
To the minds
Archives

Smoke coated aromatic mist -- fuel for the senses! Excellent autumn collection of verse, JL

Buried just rocks because it is our memories that tend to shape us into the beings we are. Stored and filed always available whether a material possession exist or not. I remember much and nostalgia is a comfort zone I often find myself within.

Great poems and imagery captured in simplicity as well. The first one's my favorite. Good job!
