Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker for the PSP Expected to Impress

A Review on the Latest Metal Gear Solid Game for the PSP

Nick Van Sandt
I still remember last year when I was walking in downtown Tokyo and noticed a giant mob of people all huddled together barely moving and not talking to each other. After getting a little closer I noticed that everyone had their own PSP and what was going on was a massive multiplayer game. They will probably be huddling up on the sidewalk again sometime soon because a great new game for solo and co-operative players is about to come out! Fans all over the world of the PSP are currently awaiting the arrival of the next big game soon to come out in a week, which is of course Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker.

This game is predicted to take the PSP gaming market by storm when it is released in early June 2010. Players will play as Snake, the classic main character of the Metal Gear Solid series, as they attempt to free Costa Rica of a mysterious military force. There are some notable differences though of MGS Peace Walker from previous Metal Gear Solid games. Players will no longer be able to move in laying down mode, and you have to crouch to pick up items. There will also be more of a co-operative play emphasis with MGS Peace Walker. Players have a choice of four different layouts of Snake. They can choose from armored, naked, jungle, or Stealth snake and each different layout has various advantages and disadvantages. There are also certain special moves that players can do in multiplayer such as sharing items, performing CPR on comrades, or being a spotter. Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker focuses more on co-operative game play than any of its predecessors.

This game has amazing potential as it has already been rated very high in just about every review out there. Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker is the first game ever on PSP to get a perfect 40/40 by the Japanese video game magazine" Famitsu". PSM3 ended up giving it a 91% because they felt it incorporated the best parts from every Metal Gear Solid game nicely together. Overall this game looks like a promising edition to the Metal Gear Solid family. The game can be purchased at just about any video game store or online after June 8th 2010 and Metal Gear Solid Peace Walker for the PSP is going to cost about $40 dollars.
