"What a thrill...with darkness and silence through the night .. I give my life, not for honor, but for you Snake Eater!"

Finally a Metal Gear Solid game for the PlayStation Portable that can offer more stealth action, strong story lines and freedom to roam around and kick butt without having to wait on the right deck of cards to get you through enemy lines. I'm talking about Metal Gear Solid: Portable Ops.

The game takes place after the events of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake-Eater, after receiving the title of Big Boss Snake blows them off to say his good-byes to his friend, lover and mentor who happens to be the mother of special forces. The Boss, after which he tries to go into hiding but is sent to Russia again on a mission only to be captured by his former unit - Fox Hound.

As Snake finds his way out of his prison cell, he meets Roy Campbell and through Campbell must learn to operate through team work instead of going solo as he usually does. To do this he must kidnap and enlist the soldiers he captures while on the prowl to help him stop a new villian - Gene and his perfect soldiers from launching Metal Gear.

As you play you run into familiar faces that offer help along the way, like Para-medic, Sokolov who we all thought was killed by Volgin, Signit and a few others to include some new comrades.

All the moves and actions you enjoyed while playing the Metal Gear Solid series makes this game top notch above other PSP titles. The bonus to this game is ability recruit other players in an online war. To beat this game on and off line you must use teamwork, by recruiting soldiers or freeing prisoners from Gene's renegade army.

This game is across the board one of the finest Metal Gear Solid for the PSP. It's only downfall is the camera angles but then again the camera angles weren't that great on MGS2: Sons of the Patriots or its predecessors.

Pros: Great story line, Freedom to move around and kick butt as you see fit, ability to recruit others into your personal little army, and the ability to continue your game play through sharing online makes it a top notch game.

Cons: Camera angles make it hard to see where the enemy is when trying to move around boxes in stealth mode.
