Meteor Burgers is located at 600 N Hwy 78 Suite 627 in Wylie Texas. As soon as you walk through the front door, you see a giant gumball machine that is full of colorful gumballs and there is antique memorabilia hanging on the walls and from the ceiling. There is an antique child's wagon, a bicycle, two propellers and a stuffed deer head. On the back wall is an antique clock with a picture of an ice cold Dr Pepper from back in the 1950's in the center of the clock. Also against the back wall is a flat screen television hanging there which is a great because while you are sitting down enjoying your burger and fries, you can watch sports.
The atmosphere inside Meteor Burgers is very welcoming and there is a down-home feeling there that makes you want to go back when you are craving a good burger. The seating areas are laid out well. There are seven tables that sit four people at each one and they are arranged off to the side of the restaurant and are not set close together which is nice because you can sit down and enjoy your food and conversation with others at your table without getting the feeling of someone at the next table breathing down your neck. There is also a picnic table inside and along the back wall, there are three booths and there are six booths along the front wall. There are no curtains on the windows, which are nice, and they offer an outside dining area, which has five picnic tables there so you can sit outside on a summer day and enjoy being outdoors.
Along the back wall by the television is a condiment station where you help yourself to ketchup, mustard and mayonnaise, extra napkins, straws and lids. Sitting next to the wall by the ordering counter is a freezer that is full of tasty ice cream treats: They have Nestle Crunch Bars, Dole Strawberry Bars, Haagen Dasz Bars, Ice Cream Sandwiches, Push-Ups, Butterfinger Ice Cream Bars and Drumsticks.
What I love the most about Meteor burgers is the fact that they cut their own fries and once you taste them, you will be hooked. Just be sure you ask for some of their ranch dressing to dip your fries in! It is the best. Besides burgers and fries. Meteor Burgers also serves veggie burgers, chicken tenders, chicken sandwiches, grilled ham and cheese. All of the burgers are made with 100% pure beef. The burgers are good here, but you need to order a double meat burger so you can taste just how good the burgers really are here! The single meat burgers do not have a big enough piece of meat in them so I always order double meat. Meteor Burgers are much more tastier to me than Sonics. If you do not want a burger, you can order a hot dog that is made with 100% beef. The hot dogs are good but it is just a wiener on a bun with mustard. The hot dogs would be so much better if they offered relish and sauerkraut, but they are tasty anyway.
They offer several sides to along with the burgers: French fries, cheese fires, onion rings, jalapeno poppers and corn dogs. If you do not want a burger and fries, order a nice hot bowl of chili or a Frito pie and then finish your meal off with a fried pie. I have had the burgers, fries, onion rings, and jalapeno poppers, chicken tenders and hot dog. The chicken tenders are crispy and so tender and juicy! There are several toppings for your burgers too: cheese, bacon, jalapenos, mushrooms, chili and guacamole, which is fantastic! The milkshakes at Meteor Burger are good too! They are creamy and taste fresh. The one thing that may be a downer to others is the drink selection at Meteor Burgers. They have Dr Pepper, Diet Dr Pepper, 7-Up and Nehi. I drink Dr Pepper so it's okay with me that they do not have a wide variety of drinks to offer. The food is good here so I would drink water if they did not have Dr Pepper.
I give Meteor Burger 5 out 5 stars.

Post a CommentMaybe it was the cook but the food looked and tasted like it had been sitting around for an hour and then reheated.
Yum! I love Dr. Pepper so I'd be happy, but I can see where others would grumble about the slim drink selection.
I thought this was going to be a funny review: Like Wylie Coyote! Sounds awesome, those home-cooked, home-cut fries sound delicious! Cheers.
