Meter

I like the discipline of the meter,
Nailing words in shingle patterns with pen.

But my heart is off a beat
today. Hammering out of synch with
life. Infarction of the soul, stubbing my
heart on the tool box, new stanzas tattooed with
a crowbar, can you heal the rent in a
life with duct tape?

The rhythm is broken.
I lied.

    Great one! I've seen a lot of prose and poetry lately coming from CPs who don't often delve into it. Personally, I find this form of writing the hardest of all.
