Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show - Washington DC

November 3 - 5 head to the Washington Convention Center for some kitchen oriented fun! From guest speakers, to interactive cooking lessons, beer/wine tasting to fun activities for the kids, The Metropolitan Cooking and Entertaining Show promises a great time to be had by all.

Headliners Bobby and Jamie Deen (sons of Paula Deen, and stars of the Food Network's hit Road Tasted,) will be appearing live on Saturday November 4 at 3:00PM and Sunday November 5 at 1:00PM. Other guest speakers include:

  • Suzanne McGrath, Managing Director, The Curious Grape - Sunday 2:00-3:00 PM

Enjoy a fabulous 2 and half hour cooking lesson with Washington's leading chefs! Afterward, sit down and enjoy the meal you've prepared in an elegant setting. Cookware/Flatware will be provided. Wines courtesy of Château Ste. Michelle.
Advanced registration is required. Each session is limited to 100 attendees. Fee is $60/person per day (general admission tickets must be purchased as well.)


  • Appetizers, Hors d'Oeuvres, and Cocktails - Friday November 3, 6:00-8:30 PM. Taught by Chef Daniel Traster, Dean of Culinary Arts Stratford University and Chef Glenn Waldon, Executive Chef Stratford University.

  • Festive Fall Luncheon - Saturday November 4, 11:30-2:00 PM. Taught by Chef Jacques Haeringer, Executive Chef/Owner L'Auberge Chez Francois

  • Sunday Jazz Brunch - Sunday November 5, 11:30-2:00 PM. Taught by Chef Jonathan Krinn, Executive Chef/Owner 2941 Restaurant.

Beer and Wine tastings will take place Friday November 3 from 6:00-8:00 PM, Saturday November 4 from 1:00-3:00 PM and 3:30-5:30 PM. Advanced registration is required, tasting fee is $20/person per session (general admission tickets must be purchased as well.)

Sponsored by Washington Parent, the kids' program includes hands-on cooking, table manners and etiquette. Little ones are sure to have a fun and educational experience.

    The dates for this event do not match up with the days. November 3 is on Saturday and Nov. 4 is on Sunday.
