Think eating disorders such as anorexia are just for women? Think only women struggle with insecurities about weight, fat, and body image? Is it just women who compare themselves to the fit, toned bodies of celebrities portrayed in modern media such as television and health magazines? Think again. In the modern world, many of the men in urban centers who considered as those straight in sexual orientation have become as vain as women. These men are considered metrosexuals, or those men who spend money not only for grooming but also to make sure that their body contours look great to anyone. So they need to achieve weight loss.

According to articles written about these men, the metrosexual concept started in 1994 when Mark Simpson came out with an idea of men whose masculinity mindset was a products of the television as well as print advertisement. Simpson noticed that these men were even self-centered that even weight loss is very important to them.

Aside from being so conscious about their looks, these men are also very particular about fashion. Because of this mindset, those outside their circles of friends are families often mistake them for being homosexuals even if they are as straight as the boy next door could be. They believe weight loss is as important is breakfast.

Because of these men, fashion houses and manufacturers of beauty products as well as makers of gym equipment have scampered so they could come out with better products because of the sure market segments. These men mean millions to these companies. Weight loss products have abound in the market.

These men spend much of their money on products that will make them look better and on gyms which will help them achieve weight loss. To them no matter how intelligent they are, the most important is they could look better than the average man. They believe weight loss is very important.

And because they are very particular about their looks, they tend to worry whenever they tip the scales. An extra pound is to them a big burden especially if it destroys the shape of their abs, or giving them bulges in areas where they do not want these "destructive" shapes. Weight loss for them is very necessary.

Living in the urban centers where machines and gurus for better body shapes are available, many of these men spend time in stores so they could look for the new trends of fashion. But most often, they also spend longer hours on gyms so they could achieve weight loss.

Metrosexuals will always go for mechanisms that will help them achieve great body and better look, never mind if they spend much of what they earn just for that goal. They need to pluck an extra hair on the face to look better or lift as much weight just they could achieve weight loss. To them, that is what is necessary.
