Prepare your slow cooker
Check the instruction book that came with your slow cooker. My cooker needed to have a quart of water added to the large bowl before I could use the double bowl inserts inside of it. Plug it in and turn it on to high while you are working with the ingredients.3
Brown and crumble the ground meat
If you are using ground turkey first put olive oil into the pan. Brown the meat on medium heat, breaking it up as it heats. When cooked through, add the envelope of taco seasoning and the water called for on the envelope. Cook until water and seasoning are absorbed.4
Mix cheese sauce and salsa
Combine the cheese sauce and salsa in one of the two inserts and place in your slow cooker.5

Transfer the meat to the other slow cooker bowl
After the meat is in the other insert, put it into your slow cooker. Put the lid on and turn the cooker to "keep warm".6
prepare your favorite taco accompaniements
Chop the other foods that you have chosen for on your tacos and put into individual containers. Keep them in the refrigerator until time for the game.7
Prepare your table
Move the slow cooker to the table where you will serve and plug it in. Place a small plate in front of it with a dipper for the cheese and a spoon for the meat. Be sure to leave a space to put the lid while people are serving themselves. Set up the plates, napkins and silverware. Put the tortilla chips into the bowl that you will serve them from. When it is time, open the chip bag and bring in your condiments.Tip
If you don't have a double bowl slow cooker, or if you have a very large crowd, you can use two slow cookers which will need to be plugged in.. Plan where you want to put everything including a serving spoon for each item. Obviously this recipe can be doubled or tripled. It will still be just as easy to fix and still mean that you can watch the game and the commercials without being tied up in the kitchen.
