Cancun: You Are a Dream

Connie Wilson

The glories of the sunny times of year

Remain in mind when winter's harsh winds blow.

I think of lazy days and, yes, I fear

That cold and ice and hail will join deep snow.

I lie here on a sunny beach, alone,

Reading books and soaking up the sun.

It's close to Paradise. No mail. No phone.

The weather invites play and wholesome fun.

I wish my own home lent itself to this:

Idyllic days where heat and time join hands.

I lie here, tan and rested. Joy. Peace. Bliss.

Mexico: beach-kissed lovely, lovely land.

My trips here always end the same old way:

I long to stay; I shall return one day.

What a great poem! You really got the meter almost perfect and it flows so nicely. Never been to Mexico, but then... I'm not a beach person. Sounds like you love the place.
