The food of course is what first got my attention. I had it recommended and decided to go. I purchased a chimichanga first which is extremely large and covered in green chile. With that and rice and beans it was only $6.00. I was impressed, and also very satisfied the flavors were great and the pork in the chimichanga was juicy. However, I only drove through so I had not received the full experience.
So I went again recently and sat inside the small Taco Bell sized restaurant. There were servers everywhere and the smell emanating from the kitchen was amazing. I was catered to literally, my glass was never below half full and the food came out in around 10 minutes even during the busy rush. I ordered there Las Perlas Enchiladas this time, which was seasoned chicken enchiladas with champagne cheese sauce over the top. This dish was delicious, the meat was spicy and the sauce was smooth and tangy. The price was still not terrible for all we received with chips, salsa, two very large enchiladas, beans and rice for $9.00. What I enjoyed the most however was the personality of the place and people. I hadn't been in a restaurant in a long time where there were so many servers and you never had to wait long for food or drinks. The servers also went out of there way to say hello when you came in and goodbye when you got u p to leave. I was impressed by the professional and cordial manner of everyone.
I am always looking for that one great Mexican food place I can always count on, and finally I have found one in Kansas. They have everything from enchiladas to Carne Asada. The food was amazing and the people were the friendliest I have seen in a long time. Definitely a have to visit place whenever you're craving Mexican food.

Post a CommentHey! I'm a Shawnee resident! I always get coupons for Mi Ranchito in "Val-Pak," but still haven't been there. We'll have to go try it! Our favorite Mexican restaurant in Shawnee is Dos Reales. I'm within walking distance of Margarita's, but my husband doesn't like it (there's something wrong with him, I think). :)
