Miami Destroys Boston Celtics, Makes Eastern Conference Finals

The Miami Heat beat the Boston Celtics Wednesday night, winning the best-of-seven series in just five games. Now the Heat will move on to the 2011 Eastern Conference Finals in an attempt to bring another title to South Beach. For LeBron James, he has finally defeated the Celtics, and now can move to the next stage of an already great career.

Yahoo! Sports reports the Game 5 score was pretty close through the first three quarters; this was a match-up that could have gone either way. In the fourth quarter, though, James and Wade completely took over, elevating their team to a place that only superstars can. For James, he was able to come through in the clutch, and it might be huge in his effort to shake the arguments that he has choked when it really counts.

Now the Heat get a few days off before taking on either the Chicago Bulls or the Atlanta Hawks in the Eastern Conference Finals. While both of those teams are good in their own respect, it might not be as big of a hurdle for the Heat to overcome. Beating the Celtics was one of the main goals of putting this team of Wade, James, and Chris Bosh together, so some might already call this season a success.

NBA fans are witnessing something extremely impressive in Miami right now with those three stars are completely overwhelming opponents. They were able to score 81 of the 97 Heat points Wednesday while the Celtics only scored 87 as a team. As for James, he scored 33 of the Heat's points to raise his playoff average even further. Through 10 playoff games this postseason, James is now averaging 26.1 points and 9.4 rebounds per game. Now he will try to continue his streak of impressive play in his first Eastern Conference Finals since the 2006-07 season.

The alleged "villains" of the NBA are now just eight wins from taking home the NBA title this year, and even closer to proving that the 2010-11 Miami Heat is one of the best teams in the history of the game. There are still going to be those basketball fans who try to detract from what these players have been able to accomplish, but right now the results are speaking much louder than any put-downs others want to toss in their direction. Now they can quiet even more critics by playing well against the winner of the Hawks-Bulls series.
