Actor
One of Michael Easton's earliest roles was in daytime television. He played Tanner Scofield on Days of Our Lives from 1990 to 1992.
He returned to daytime in 2001. Although his debut on Port Charles was as the kind, bespectacled Father Michael Morley, the priest was hiding some important information. His secrets? He was actually the "alter ego" of his brother, Caleb--who happened to be a vampire. Although Caleb was eventually vanquished, Easton later returned as Stephen Clay, the front man of a goth rock band. Easton didn't actually sing, though; he lip synched to the voice of Joey Lugassy. Stephen turned out to be Caleb, who was released from hell when an angel was allowed to leave heaven. This time, Easton stayed with the series until it ended in October 2003.
Although the final episode of Port Charles aired on October 3, Easton began a new role shortly before that. He moved from Los Angeles to New York and joined the cast of One Life to Live as FBI Agent John McBain; his first episode aired on October 1. He's still with the show, although his character is now a police detective.
Over the years, he has also starred in VR.5, TWO, 413 Hope Street, and Total Recall 2070. In addition, his guest roles include Mutant X and Diagnosis Murder. He has also appeared in several movies.
One of Easton's most interesting, albeit short-term, roles was as a guest star. In 1998, he portrayed Glenn in three episodes of Ally McBeal and one episode of The Practice. Glenn was the exceptionally well-endowed nude sculpture model for a class Ally was taking.
Writer
Easton credits his Irish heritage with his compulsion to write poetry. In 1995, he published Eighteen Straight Whiskeys, a collection based on a particularly dark time in his life.
Easton's writing talent isn't limited to poetry. He has also written several screenplays, including Monty, which depicts the life of Montgomery Clift, and Daedalus is Dead, which won Best Dramatic Short Film at Canada's Sea and Sky Festival.
He has also branched out into graphic novels. His first, Soul Stealer, was published in 2008; it eventually grew into a trilogy. He also collaborated on The Green Woman with novelist Peter Straub. As a guest blogger for USA Today's Pop Candy, Easton explained how that came about and filled fans in on his connection to Straub.
Photographer
In 2006, the cast of One Life to Live collaborated on One Life, Many Voices, a CD sold to raise money for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. Wanting to help, Easton donated his talent as a photographer. He took photos of the CD participants and contributed them to the project.
Career Outlook
Michael Easton is a man of many talents, including acting, writing, and photography. No matter what project he tackles next, he is certain to be successful.
