This movie is an interesting mix of comedy, fantasy, horror, and thriller. It is the story of Frank Bannister, played by Michael J. Fox, a con man that after a tragic event in his past, has the ability to see ghosts. When numerous supernatural murders begin happening, he finds himself drug into an escalating mystery to find out why all these people are dying and who it is that is killing them.

When Ray Lynsky, played by Peter Dobson, the husband of a previous client, Dr. Lucy Lynsky, played by Trini Alvarado. Dr. Lynsky comes to Bannister to help her communicate with her deceased husband and finds herself drawn into the mystery as well. After witnessing one of the deaths, Bannister chases after a strange apparition leaving Dr. Lynsky alone in a restaurant. Dr. Lynsky is brought to the local police station for questioning by Sheriff Walt Perry, played by Troy Evans when the comical and slightly obsessive Agent Milton Dammers, played by Jeffrey Combs shows up.

One thing that Bannister notices, is that everyone of the victims has a number in their foreheads that only he can see. With the help of Dr. Lynsky and his ghostly companions, The Judge (played by John Astin), Cyrus (played by Chi McBride), Stuart (played by Jim Fyfe), and several other ghosts, Bannister eventually discovers that the ghostly killer is none other than the ghost of Johnny Charles Bartlett (played by Jake Busey). Bannister eventually winds up defeating Bartlett by freezing himself to death so that he can fight with Bartlett on the spiritual plane.

Directed and Produced by Peter Jackson (of Lord of the Rings and King Kong fame). This film is a thrilling and exciting roller coaster ride of entertainment that will leave you laughing and cowering in your seat for hours.

  • A laugh and a scream a minute
  • Surprisingly Spooky for a Michael J. Fox film
-Michael J. Fox repeatedly blew his lines, calling John Astin's character "Doc"-the name of Christopher Lloyd's character in the Back to the Future(1985) movies.
-Peter Jackson played The bearded and pierced man who Frank bumps into.
