Michael Jackson was greeted in Japan on Sunday to a crowd of screaming fans. He was smiling and waving upon his arrival in Japan, his second visit to the country in recent years.

Jackson is in Japan host an exclusive party where admirers will pay $3,500 to spend 30 seconds with the pop icon.

Jackson looked relaxed, wearing his trademark sun glasses and black leather jacket. The was ushered by guards past hundreds of screaming Japanese fans at Narita Airport on Sunday afternoon. Some fans were carrying signs that read "We love Michael" and "Welcome to Japan"..

Michael Jackson made his first official appearance, after his acquittal on child molestation charges in June of 2005, in the spotlight in Tokyo last year. He appeared in Tokyo to accept an MTV Japan award last year.

Jackson will be holding a VIP party. Guests of the party are paying $3,500 to get to mingle with Jackson. Each guest will get to spend 30 seconds to one minute each of exclusive face time with the famous pop icon.

Three guests will be awarded free tickets to the exclusive event. The tickets will be awarded to winners of an art contest .

The VIP Meet and Greet party is scheduled for Thursday. Promoter declined to comment on how much Jackson would be paid. Jackson is not obliged to perform at either event.

Jackson, 48, is one of the best selling pop artists of all time. He has lived abroad since his acquittal of child molestation charges. He has forsaken his famous Neverland Ranch in California, for residences in Bahrain, France and a castle in Ireland.

Recently, a spokesperson for Jackson, Raymone K. Bain, confirmed that Jackson is currently living in Las Vegas. Bain said, "Mr. Jackson has been presented numerous proposals - proposals which he has not solicited, but were presented to him, several of which include performing in Las Vegas. Bain said in a press release, "Mr Jackson is currently reviewing and evaluating each proposal. He does not believe that he is under any time constraint for making his decisions." The press release statement was issued to counteract rumors that Jackson has failed to find a Las Vegas casino for a show and another that he would soon appear on "American Idol." Bain continued, "Mr. Jackson did not move to Las Vegas to shop a Vegas show. Mr. Jackson is in Las Vegas because he likes the cit and found it a convenient location to record with the artists, songwriters and producers who are working with him in the studio."

In a recent statement, Michael Jackson said, "My friends and fans in japan have been so supportive of me and my family for many, many years. My fans in Japan helped me achieve historic milestones in the music industry."
