Michael Jackson: The Death of a Legend

A Very Big Loss in the Music Industry

King of Pop and music legend Michael Jackson is dead at the age of 50. The whole world is mourning.

And who wouldn't? Despite the legal battles and scandals that Jacko got himself entangled with, his fans remained loyal. After all, despite his misdemeanors and tastes and eccentricities, he is nonetheless a remarkable performer. He loves to perform and entertain people. The applause of his fans energize him.

I remember growing up with "Beat It," "Thriller," and "Billie Jean." I also sang with "We Are The World", which was performed by various artists and which Michael Jackson co-wrote.

It is such a shame that he left this world early. He could have shared more of himself in his music. And he could have redeemed himself, too.

Jackson was supposed to perform in a series of concerts around the world starting on July 13. But before he could rehearse for their act, he passed away due to cardiac arrest.

As of this writing, the results of his autopsy are pending. But it was reported that he was already dead when paramedics went to his home.

The once shining celebrity on stage is now a lifeless body in a morgue. Truly, even the most famous or richest person will still end up lifeless at a certain point. The only thing that matters is the legacy that one leaves behind...or the lack of it.

For Michael Jackson, his music is his legacy. And it will live on.
