I am trying to publish an article about a historic legend and one of the people associated with her complained about the inaccuracy in her life story over the past years and how the world doesn't really know her great story. As I was writing I was watching t.v and I'm absolutely repelled by some of the Michael Jackson coverage. I'm not sure if some of the news organizations really are absorbing that a family has lost their sibling. A mother and father lost their son. Three children lost their father and the world lost its greatest star. Even with his stardom and our need to know every detail of his life I believe that there are some parameters that should be taken. From the disgusting UK tabloid report about his supposed leaked autopsy to all the excitement of highlighting the negatives in such a nonchalant nastiness-it is all done in such a high degree of distaste and lack of respect. Even with all the emphasis of ugliness that sensationalism exist in, there is no one who can separate Michael Jackson from his artistry, genius and gentleness. This is not to say that he was not eccentric but nevertheless chopping away at Michael's character and dismantling all that he has contributed is just not fair. To continue to crucify him even in death should be somewhat unacceptable. Gladys Knight said, "He lived every mistake, he accounted for every trial and now is the time to celebrate Michael Jackson." I've never quite understood how anyone can be comfortable in disrespecting someone when they are in spirit especially with the power and magnitude of the spirit and all the emotions and feelings attached to our eternal spirits. I don't think that everyone gets the powerful aspects of that. We say rest in peace for a reason. That is not to be taken lightly. I strongly believe that negativity disrupts the peace deserved to the ones we lost. I can often feel when my own parents are agitated and I just can't imagine the consequence administered to anyone who evokes that. There is a peace that will forever be attached to Michael Jackson because that is what he strived for. His attempts to dismantle racism, poverty, division, ignorance and many social issues cannot go without notice and be washed away by the momentary satisfaction incurred by some-desperately seeking a story and to make money. Michaels efforts to please his fans and make people happy through soothing melodies, authentic notes, memorable lyrics and just a very sweet inviting voice that made us feel good accounts for a lot. We can not erase the unparalleled impact he has had on cultures throughout the globe. His success was universal. Sure we can not control what is said because we are all entitled to our own opinions {no matter how bizarre they are} but sometimes when it comes to certain things I just think we have to be careful what we allow ourselves to be consumed by. When we accept other people's attempt to diminish our legend's worth we continue to give them permission to re-write our history. We relinquish the right for our history to be presented in it's actuality without the distortion and analysis from people who have an agenda to do just that. That's how we end up being lost in our history and lost in ourselves. Many examples can be given through out the history books and from generation to generation we lose the greater part of our worth because our history has been re-written. Even the greatest star in the world deserves to rest in peace although that might not be realistic. Michael deserves to be at peace.

Post a CommentI agree with you! Micheal can never be replaced and his children don't need to hear all the bad things. They need to remember the man they loved. His parents will remember their son, but I will remeber him as an artist I grew up on...The King of POP music!
good job! Hugz cj
Beautifully expressed. It is 2 months since Michael died and I am still trying to rstionalise the extreme defaults of the modern day world. Yes I am the same age as Michael and have an extensive background in health care. In most countries student nurses would perform better and be more accountable than the US seems to accept as a standard of care. The damage is done - the next question is - can the message be learned? I doubt it.
False allegations. The media is the reason why his kids are fatherless the families with their false claims are the reason why his mother will cry until the day she die. Michael Jackson was killed by stress and a bleeding heart years ago the doctors just suppressed his pain, It's not their fault it's people fault he couldn't sleeo at night. I'm just sorry a man with his status died so unhappily. Now evertone whom brought him pain will be punished
Well put,I totally agree with you. The pressure and stress Mr. Jackson endured was totally uncalled for and no one should endure that. In fact noone has no even his counterpart Elvis noone talked about how his record company and well as self stole dances and song from black artists remaking them and selling thus making millions. It'e because of Michael Jackson that black artist can no only write produce sing the songs and own them.Black artists should thaank him for performing over the world show all race and cultures the right and great side of blacks which has been so unaccounted for. I will truly miss him. I am sorry he passed away so unhappy. To be the BIGGEST i mean BIGGEST Artist in the world he died unhappy because of money hungry leaching families. Rather than uplifting him.His own country tore him down because of money and now after his untimely death people are still disrespecting him. The media is responsible for his kids being without a father the families with false allega
Exceptional; so many times people here in the West people think that when you ar famous and wealthy that there is nothing i that person's life that could be wrong; that couldn't be further from the true. Michael Jackson was troubled and deseves privacy and peace because like so many famous people he didn't get it in life. My only regret, my biggest sadness over the death of Michael Jackson is not just the fact that he died; it is the fact that he never really lived; he spent his entire life tying to find peace and recapture his life because he was a prisoner of his fame.
Amen. Excellent article. No one could have said it better. Thanks!
