Michael Jackson Funeral Tickets

Pop Icon's Memorial Service

Phillip White
While information on when or even where a public memorial for the late pop icon Michael Jackson would take place was up in the air for days, witrh no one confirming until the Jackson family announced their official plans, multiple sources are now reporting that a venue and a date have been selected.

When

The memorial for Michael Jackson is being described as "public and private," with the service taking place on Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at 10:00am and noon Pacific Standard Time.

Where

The service will be held at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. The 20,000-seat arena was where Jackson rehearsed for his tour the night before he died.

It had been rumored over the past few days that there was going to be a public viewing and public memorial at the Neverland Ranch, but those plans have since been scrapped.

According to AEG Live, which is organizing the memorial, everything is still in preliminary stages. The arena is expected to reach capacity, so for the overflow crowds, large-screen monitors of the memorial will be displayed just outside Staples Center at Nokia Plaza.

Tickets

According to RadarOnline, tickets to sit inside the Staples Center in the stands will cost $25 to the general public. When tickets go on sale is still unclear at this time.

For more information, contact the Staples Center box office at (213)-742-7340.
