Michael Jackson Has Died & Twitter is Down

A Day I Will Never Forget

I read a twitter post of Rev Run, "Dream as if you will live forever, Live as if you will die today." Today is a day that will never be forgotten. Michael Joseph Jackson has passed away. It was a surprise that no one expected. He has concerts scheduled and coming up in London tickets had been sold out.

A call was made from his home in LA by his assistant to 911. When the ambulance arrived at about 12:30 noon they were unable to find a pulse nor get him revived. They tried again on the way to the Ronald Regan UC medical Center.

Twitter feeds began to come in at rapid fire. Michael Jackson has had a hart attack; Michael Jackson is in a comma, Michael Jackson is in Cardiac Arrest. No one knew what was going on, and wanted answers. They began to line up outside the hospital. Soon reports were made that yes he indeed had passed away. At the age of 50 years old, a man of great talent, and a great heart, the heart of a child.

As a young child at the age of 11, Michael Jackson had begun his entertainment career. I do not think there is a person in the world that does not know Michael Jackson. In Europe there even stand a huge statue of Michael Jackson, one of the places where Michael Jackson is almost more popular and loved than in the US.

Growing up in the eighties, I grew up listening to Off the Wall, Thriller, Beat It, and more. I tried to mimic his dance moves, and found it difficult. Michael even had a US patent if his anti-gravity lean that he used in his music video Smooth Criminal. It was famous dance moves like this and the moonwalk that will be mimicked forever.

Not only did he have the dance moves, but also his music in general brought together people from all over the world, people of all ages, and demographics.

As I live today I do the normal things of cleaning, teaching, reading, and watching the News of Michael on the News, writing about the new things that I have learned, but I also dream, I dream of a time when the hopes, dreams, and wishes of Michael Jackson do come true.

Music is a language of communication, a way that people come together, a way that people express them self. But Michael used music to heal the world and make it a better place. I hope that very dream is granted to him, inshallah. Ameen
