The latest rumor to hit the streets in the life of Michael Jackson may indeed be the last story for the King of Pop. Reported to the UK newspaper the Sun, Michael Jackson is suffering from a fatal lung disease that reduces his only hope for survival to a transplant. According to Ian Halperin, the author currently writing a new biography, his only hope is a transplant. Unfortunately his condition has deteriorated to the point he might not tolerate surgery.

The genetic condition known as Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency is present in about 100,000 people in the U.S. according to the Alpha-1 foundation. It can lead to lung destruction and is a cause for reaccuring complications such as a chronic cough, vommitting blood, and unexplainable liver problems.

Jackson is also plagued with emphysema and chronic gastrointestinal bleeding. The bleeding has been the source of many problems for him and his Doctors who have struggled to contain and control it.

This new revelation into his medical status may be the reason that his rumored duet with singer Akon that was suppose to appear on Akon's latest alblum never took place.

It's also reported that his eyesight in his left eye is all but gone as well, adding to the problems the wheelchair bound singer is experiencing. With his deteriorating health, and sadly slipping physical condition it's easy to see his singing days may truly be over.
