I was a fan from the time he was a child star until I was born again in 1986. Like everyone else I bought the Thriller album when it came out. After 1986 I lost track of Michael Jackson and every other rock star because my tastes changed so completely. I didn't see even a news story of him until many years later during the pedophile scandal. I was shocked. His face was appalling!
I remembered Michael Jackson when he was still black. I remembered his having at least one nose job, which made his nose thinner, but who was this white needled nosed wide mouthed taut skinned freak. What kind of person does that to himself? His face was not the result of a car accident. It was something he did to himself. He paid money to mutilate himself. And he couldn't stop. According to Wikipedia,Michael Jackson's Health and Appearance, Michael Jackson had ten surgeries on his face by 1990. The very same source also says that he may have suffered from Body dysmorphic disorder. Ya think?
That wasn't the only evidence of a severally tormented soul. There were the allegations of pedophilia. He was acquitted the only time he was brought up on charges for child rape. I would have to agree that the evidence against him was thin. However when you combine those charges with the fact that Jackson paid over twenty million to the family of another boy who accused him of child molestation, you end up with a load of doubt. I could see how someone may pay money to just not have to face these charges, but twenty million is a whole lot of hush money. We have the very words of Michael Jackson stating that he did have children come to his home for sleepovers and that he did sleep in the same bed with them. This is totally inappropriate behavior. Everyone normal person knows that. We will never know the exact truth about the pedophilia charges. The speculation of his being a pedophile is never going to go away.
He was also addicted to prescription drugs. He went into rehab in the 1993. There are news reports about the prescription drugs found in his home at the time of his death. Some of them drugs that no one should ever have outside of a hospital for any reason. I am certain from the mounting evidence that we are going to find that he died from a drug overdose.
Could all of this torment be traced back to his childhood? It has been reported that he and his brothers were driven to achieve star status during the childhood often practicing for hours at the insistence of their father. His brothers and Michael said there was physical and mental abuse in the childhood. In an interview with Oprah Winfrey.in 1993 he said he believed that he had missed out on much of his childhood years. He said that often cried from loneliness. According to Wikipedia, Michael Jackson's Health and Appearance, Jackson admitted that there were times when He would actually vomit when his father came to visit him. Even I remember an interview in which he stated that he was always afraid everywhere he was except when he was on stage. He said that he would sleep on stage if he could. That is a tormented soul.
Michael Jackson was a talented man, but he was a freak. He is not a role model. He is not an icon. He was just a sad tormented man.
