Michael Jackson is Not Dying

"Wild allegations concerning Mr. Jackson's health are a total fabrication," said Michael Jackson's rep in response to the wildly circulating rumors regarding the King of Pop's health. Jackson spokesperson Dr. Tohme Tohme continued: "Concerning this author's allegations, we would hope in the future that legitimate media will not continue to be exploited by such an obvious attempt to promote this unauthorized 'biography.' "

Jackson was reported to be suffering from a condition called alpha-1 antitrypsin deficiency which would have had him in line for a lung transplant. The rumor, started by supposed biographer Ian Halperin, suggested that Jackson was nearly blind in one eye and may possibly be too weak for the transplant. Rumors regarding Jackson's impending death spread like wildfire across major news outlets and blogs.

Tohme continued by saying, "Mr. Jackson is in fine health, and finalizing negotiations with a major entertainment company and television network for both a world tour and a series of specials and appearances." (E! Online)

Earlier this year the possibility of a Jacksons reunion and tour with Janet as the opening act were discussed. But it appears Michael was disinterested and will be going solo in 2009. He recently recorded a song with Akon titled "Hold My Hand," which was leaked to the internet shortly later.

It remains to be seen whether or not a lawsuit will be filed against Halperin, who is described by some as a conspiracy theorist.

In other Jackson news, Billie Jean is back, or so she says. The woman who claimed that Jackson fathered her children in 1987 and owed child support is now seeking $1 billion dollars for support of Blanket, real name Prince Michael II, who she claims is her son. The woman's actual name is reported by MSNBC to possibly be Lavon Powlis. She also claims to be currently married to Jackson and refers to herself as Billie Jean Jackson. (MSNBC)

I was worried there for a while. I am glad he is going to be ok. Thanks for letting us know.

I still find his dancing to be powerful. The way I see it, lots of famous artists created wonderful works but many were mentally ill, even violent. I'm still working on my take about Jackson but I think that art stands on its own and the artist (people like Phil Spector, Michael Jackson and others) may live on the border between madness, genius and talent. Unfortunately, sometimes the edge gets crossed. Does that excuse the behavior? No, but it doesn't mean the art is gone, either. Perhaps people's perceptions are altered, however. Me? I'm still amazed by Jackson's dancing and early singing skills.

That's how I've always felt about him. Unfortunately, once your PR gets out-of-hand, there isn't much going back. Hopefully next year will prove better for him.

Poor Michael everyone tries to make money from him, dying reports to sell a book (got everyone talking didn't it! Free publicity basically for his book), Billie Jean claiing to be Blankets mother - wants a billion, allegations, allegations, allegations! it really must suck being the most famous person on earth. it's no wonder he covers his kids up - threats of randsom.
