Michael Jackson Sells Neverland Ranch

Really?

Michael Jackson has given up Neverland Ranch. Has he really? According to eonline.com, the ranch is now owned by The Sycamore Valley Ranch company LLC. ABC News says this is "a company he owns jointly with another firm".

The Neverland Ranch began in 1988. It was designed as an amusement park for children. Reportedly, it will now be renamed The Sycamore Valley Ranch due to it's association with the child molestation charges Michael Jackson was acquitted of in 2005.

Michael Jackson dreamed of creating a fantasy land for children on the 2,500 acre property known as Neverland Ranch, and so he did. Michael lived at Neverland until the molestation charges surfaced, but has not been back to the ranch since the charges and allegations forced him to stay away.

The Neverland Ranch, of which I have viewed photos, really is a journey into another land. When open, it was colorful and exciting and very appealing to the children invited to play there.

Neverland Ranch included a ride designed especially for Michael Jackson, the bumper cars. Michael gained his popularity as a child and some people feel he has really never grown up.

There were other rides at Neverland, including a ferris wheel, and a beautifully ornate Merry Go Round. Michael Jackson also provided other amusements and games for the children who were guests at his ranch.

One of these other attractions was the Neverland Ranch Petting Zoo where children could get up close and personal with the animals. Michael Jackson also kept a variety of larger Zoo Animals on the Neverland Ranch.

According to Inside Edition, once Neverland Ranch closed, the animals were sold to a woman named Freddie Hancock, who says she was impressed at how well the animals were cared for at Neverland Ranch.

Reportedly, Freddie Hancock originally intended to buy just one giraffe from Michael Jackson, but fell in love with all four. She bought about 2 dozen animals all together from Neverland Ranch.

Freddie Hancock lives in Arizona and rents houseboats on the shores of Lake Powell.Inside Edition reports that the animals from Neverland Ranch are housed in a very large warehouse type building there.

Reportedly, the Neverland Ranch animals' new owner says she hopes for Michael Jackson to visit the animals there. She feels he would be impressed with their new home.

At least it's nice to know the animals have been well-cared for.

Is it really "selling" it if you're selling it back to yourself???? I remember seeing pictures of Neverland ranch last year and how seedy it had become. Great update :)

Great article. Interesting that he would sell it to a company jointly owned by himself.

"Michael Jackson also provided other amusements and games for the children who were guests at his ranch." Yeah, I'll bet. Neverland will be better off (and so will the kids) out of MJ's hands. Thanks for this article -- hadn't heard of this yet. :)
