Michael Jackson's Birthday Shadowed by Possibility of Exhuming His Body

Questions Still Surround Michael Jackson's Death, on What Would Have Been His 52nd Birthday

Michael Jackson's birthday is being remembered around the country, but unanswered questions about his death shadow the celebration of his life. Today would have marked the King of Pop's 52nd birthday, had he not passed away last June, at age 50. Recent developments in the music icon's murder trial may call for the exhuming of his remains. The controversy makes it difficult to celebrate Michael Jackson's birthday, when he may have to be laid to rest yet again.

Michael Jackson passed away on June 25, 2009, at his Holmby Hills mansion. Cause of death was listed as acute propofol intoxication. His amended death certificate cites that his death from the sedative was a homicide. The certificate also states cause as "intravenous injection by another."

On Feb. 8, 2010, cardiologist and Jackson's personal physician Dr. Conrad Murray entered a plea of not guilty to an involuntary manslaughter charge. He is out free on a $75,000 bond.

Court Ruling Shadows MJ's Birthday

TMZ reports that Dr. Murray's defense team won a request to obtain Michael Jackson's fluid samples. The defense lawyers' intent is to test the propofol levels again, to see if they match preliminary drug findings and if any other medications were present in Jackson's system.

If there is not enough tissue and fluid samples left for testing, there is a chance the Jackson's body may have to be exhumed. This ruling came out the Monday before Michael Jackson's birthday, allowing the circumstances of his death to cloud celebrations even more than they would have naturally.

Michael Jackson's Next Birthday May See Him Laid to Rest

Dr. Murray's preliminary trial date is set for Jan. 4, 2011. AFP reports that at this hearing, Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Michael Pastor will decide if the prosecution has enough eveidence to prosecute Dr. Murray. A status hearing is set for Oct. 26, 2010.

This time line indicates that if any testing is to be done, it should be complete before Michael Jackson's birthday in that year. Even if his body is exhumed, it should be laid back to rest by then.

A verdict of guilty or not guilty should give Jackson's family, friends and fans some level of closure. So perhaps on MJ's 53rd birthday his life can be celebrated without being overshadowed by controversy.

I blame the doctor, but MJ is also to blame for his own demise.

this doctor just wants to get out of trouble,he is not in enough trouble in my opinion,he killed a man,if michael jackson was your son, wouldnt you want justice?come on people, get with it,this is murder,by greed. if your a responsible dr. no matter how much money is floated in front of you,you wouldnt be giving these kind of drugs for someone to sleep, and if your stupid enough to do that, and someone dies because of it,you should go to prison for murder, not be charged with some charge that carries nothing, this surely is not justice, for a man losing his life.are we so empty as a people, that we cant see the forest through the trees?oviously something is very wrong here.

Puh-lease, give Michael a chance to lay at rest! People dont understand how much it hurts to see people talking about ëxhuming" his body... it is utterly ridiculous and disturbing. No one in this world should think that its right, because it isnt. Not one bit.

Happy Birthday Michael. We miss you very dearly R.I.P

This article makes no sense, unless the "exhumation" will reveal MJ is not in the crypt as many suspect.
If he was embalmed, all of his fluids were removed. And if is wasn't embalmed, then after 14+ months you have basically a skeleton left. I have never heard of getting fluids that woul be of any quality to test from a body that has been buried that long. Even if they did get fluids somehow, how could testing of those fluids, which surely have changed over time chemically, overrule "fresh" fluid that was taken right after the alledged death?
If this ends up being true, that they will exhume, then let's hope we are in for a real life "Thriller". If MJ is miraculously alive, it would be one of the greatest moments in history, and definitely the biggest moment ever in the entertainment industy... dare to dream!
