Michael Jackson's Bodyguards Give Their Impressions of the King of Pop
Their Perspectives on the Late King of Pop Reveal a Quite Normal Individual
The idea of Jackson's bodyguards sharing personal information about him would have been automatically assumed scandalous in the not too distant past. But as so much has since Jackson's passing on June 25, 2009, the bodyguards' recollections of Jackson would seem to only enhance his personal legacy.
Appearing on Good Morning America earlier this week, Mike Garcia, Bill Whitfield and Javon Beard described a man that did struggle with certain aspects of life, but that in many respects was actually a pretty normal person; albeit one with extraordinary talent.
They said that Jackson had girlfriends and was somebody who wished he could do 'normal things', such as going to a bar and enjoying a beer.
Garcia pointed out that Jackson was a tremendous father, and that his kids routinely said, "I love you, Dad". He commented that the kids, Prince, Paris and Blanket, are extremely well mannered and pleasant to be around and that his message to them is that they should now that they were "everything" to their father.
The three said that they did not see any signs of Jackson's substance abuse, though they do acknowledge that, as with so many Americans today, Jackson had debt problems.
Finally, Whitfield addressed the rumors of child molestation that dogged Jackson for many of his adult years. He said that as a father himself, he did not believe Jackson was a pedophile and that "men know men".
The transformation of the reputation and memory of Michael Jackson since his passing has been dramatic; his bodyguards' accounts are reminiscent of the one provided by fellow artist Lenny Kravitz, who remarked how funny Jackson was while they worked in the studio together, and what a great father he was to his children.
In many ways, the bodyguards' testimony about Jackson's personal life is as compelling as any that can be offered.
A sensationalized tell all book, for example, written by the men closest to him on an everyday basis would be sure to receive mega offers and worldwide attention. And yet even with that incentive, Jackson's bodyguards paint the picture of a good father, with common desires and dealing with problems the way all people do.

Post a CommentThanks for being real. It is good to know that there are people of integrity in journalism. I believe that Michael Jackson will be remembered as a true artist, giving his all. He never waivered or failed his audience. He had a broken heart never understanding why he was treated so wrong, but that's the way of the world.
And all this about his addiction to pain killers....I wish these haters would ask themselves this..If you were him, And this had happened to you, would you want to hear the lies and the constant hateful chatter...No you would want to go so deep into yourself that all you could feel was nothing and hear only silence.
In my heart of hearts i truly believe Michael would still be here with us today if it was not for these lies. He should have been left alone and let to live a normal life, but that was to hard of a task for the world to do. Instead they destroyed one of gods angels
Michael was the one of the kindest and gentlest souls. He only wanted to make the world just that bit better for everybody in it. He loved his beloved children so very much and they loved him back even more in return. People could never understand what it was like to be him, constantly under the spotlight, with not a moment of peace from the constant lies that the media told the world. If only people could imagine not even being able to step out your door to go for a walk without a million paparazzi flashes blinding you, not being able to enjoy a day out with your children...Having to disguise yourself to go shoping and so many other normal activities that we all take for granted. I feel no one will ever know till they have walked in his shoes.
People need to open their heart and truly listen to what he was saying, the pure and utter goodnes that he preached he lived by.

Michael could never be seen for the true person that he was. I feel for him not being able to have a normal life per-say, he loved his children, and was a great father to them. Thank you Ron Hart for the true journalist that you are, you tell it like it is and you tell the truth. Keep up the great work, others should take lessons from you on true journalism and not a tabloid junkie kind of trash writer.
We are not supposed to believe anybody saying anything that is contrary to what the media want us to believe!
Thank you Ron, for always putting things across so tactfully and fairly. Of course Michael wanted to be normal, we all do but with the tabloids twisting everything he did or said it was impossible. Because of that he hid away from normality so everyone branded him a freak. Some people sjould try to imagine what it would feel like to wake up in the morning and have hundreds of people peering through their bedroom window, then they might get a slight inkling of what it was like for Michael every day of his life. If only there were more people like Ron Hart, the world might get to hear the truth xxx
All the more reason for people to love instead of hate him. He had got so much love inside him that it was really unlikely for him to molest a child. Great father, great son, great friend. Thanks for this article. :-)
I hope people start listening and open their mind for Michael. He'd been accused for what he's innocent and trashed so hard by the media for all these years. So much injustice ... it's never too late to give him back the fairness and respect that he deserves.
I don't believe in the word normal because it is only identifications & differences that exist. However, I do understand Michael to simply be a person among people as he has mentioned in interviews, speeches & his music. Glad these guys mentioned such.
They also mentioned that Michael was quite concerned bout security & felt on guard.
It flabbergasts me that so many people have not been able to see through the media and see Michael for who he really is; interested in the opposite sex, loves all children & good father with a great sense of humor (among other fine qualities).
I do not believe that Michael was ever in debt though. It's his business, anyway.
