Michael Jackson's Death--Should Dr. Conrad Murray Be Charged?

Dominique Williams
Michael Jackson's death stunned the whole world. Almost immediately after his death, controversy arose about Michael Jackson's personal doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray. Was he responsible for Jackson's death? Dr. Murray was the last to see Michael Jackson alive and has been the main target during police investigation. Before Jackson died, Dr. Murray administered Propofol and other sedatives because he was struggling to sleep. When this information was revealed, there was talk of homicide that pinpointed Propofol and other drugs as the main cause.

Since the death of Michael Jackson, Dr. Murray has been in the media's spotlight for some time now. On February 8, 2010, Dr. Murray will be charged with involuntary manslaughter. He is planning to plead not guilty when he is arraigned. According to TMZ, Dr. Murray will arrive at the courthouse 20-30 minutes before the arraignment. He will surrender voluntarily. A bail bondsman will post bail that is expected to be $25,000.

Many questions have arisen on whether Dr. Murray should be charged in the death of Michael Jackson. Some believe that his negligence and/or shady business practices was the cause for Jackson's death. They also believe that the charge of involuntary manslaughter is not correct and first degree murder is more appropriate. Jail time of even ten to fifteen years is suitable to many of Jackson's fans. Although these reasons are very applicable to the situation, others believe that Jackson was very knowledgeable of the medication he was taking and knew that he had been taking too much. Some even go as far as believing that he was as responsible for his own death as the doctor was. They believe Dr. Murray should not be charged and should only get his license revoked.

When news of Jackson's death swept the world, many people immediately thought murder was the main culprit. When Dr. Murray's name entered into the scenario and people learned of him administering the fatal drugs, he became the main and basically only suspect. I personally believe that Dr. Murray should be charged with something. He did contribute to Jackson's death and just getting his license revoked would not be enough. He needs some amount of jail time. Whether he should be charged with involuntary manslaughter or murder is entirely up to the D.A.

What are your opinions? Should Dr. Murray be charged with the death of pop icon, Michael Jackson?

Michael was not a child molester. All of you that think that are wrong and for false judging Michael will be held accountable in the afterlife. the kid finally admitted that Michael never touched him. Murray killed Michael. Murray never monitored Michael properly. Murray gave Profanol out of clinical setting which means he wan't man enough to stand up to Michael and get Michae in drug rehab for his other drug use problem. Murray did not call 911 in time to save Michael's life. Murray did inadequate CPR. Until Michael was placed on the floor CPR was ineffective. Michael was flat lined according to EMS. I trust them a lot further that Murray who was trying to save his own behind with his remarks about a faint pulse. If the pulse was deep enough to be in the femoral artery it was way too late for Michael. 4 minutes after cardiac and respiratory arrest and brain death starts. From 1030 till 1050 make it generous-Michael is in process of dying. Murray doesn't find him till 1150

The night that all this took place.see murry went to the bar to have some drinks to deaden the fear of what he was going to do.see he had it some what planed. As he put the meds in michael he would go to his room and do the lady he took home from the bar.and took her to Michaels home.He timed it out.he gave Michael more then was called to help michael sleep and he used the lady to keep his mind off of michael.when finally michael stopped breathing he put the hose down michael throat and turned the pump on.the pump has 2 things an in that put air in the lungs and an out that sucks any thing from the lungs he had it on out so it sucked out and that cause michael to bleed.and murry got afraid of this and turned the pump off and then michael had blood coming up and out of his mouth and all murry did was graded Michael's t-shirt to clean up the blood. that why you see the bloody t-shirt.yes I hope murry get paid back every thing that he did to Michael.

conrad murray is a typical island man who father numerous infants out of wedlock and fail to support them. However, I think it is wrong for him to made an example. There were many more who should go to jail.I am surprise of those Jackson brothers. It is a shame that it took Michaels death to put them ons the map.WHERE WE THEY AND THAT LATOYA?

Good work. I believe a crime was committed, but, it wasn't murder. His greed caused him to use poor judgement. Maybe the next doctor turned enabler will think twice before becoming a personal drug dealer. Let the punishment fit the crime.

NO LISETTE HE IS NOT A MOLESTER AND HE DID NOT INJECT HIMSELF MURRAY ADMITTED HE DID YOU CANNOT DO THAT YOURSELF PLUS HE HAD OTHER INJECTABLES IN HIM AND PILLS

  • Lisette2/8/2010

He was a CHILD MOLESTER ppl remember that because Death is too good for him. I hope he burns in hell. Murry shouldn't be charged.

Jackson was a drug addict. The doctor shouldn't have prescribed the drugs, but Michael injected himself. Sadly the state going after the doctor for their fifteen minutes of fame is overshadowing Michael's responsibility for his own action.

I think the charges will depend on what evidence comes out about the drugs that were in Jackson's system, administration and supervision of those drugs and whether they could be used outside a hospital legally. I don't have the answer to those questions (haven't really researched it). However, I did read that Dr. Murray was going to turn himself in and then some reports noted that he wouldn't do so. Last I heard, he WILL turn himself in but for involuntary manslaughter, or accidental death (as I can best interpret "involuntary manslaughter")
