Michael Jackson's Life Gains Another Twist After Death

Doctor is Accused of Manslaughter

In the never-ending story that is Michael Jackson's life and death, a new twist has arisen. Michael Jackson's doctor, Dr. Conrad Murray, is now under investigation for the homicide.

The investigation into whether Dr. Murray is guilty of committing homicide to Michael Jackson will be ongoing, but it has been determined that Jackson's death is attributed to a lethal dose of an anesthetic called propofol. The propofol was administered in a cocktail of various drugs and was intended to help Michael Jackson sleep.

Given the extreme popularity Michael Jackson faced since a young age (he started performing as part of the Jackson Five at age eight), it is easy to see that normalcy was never part of the picture. In addition to the fame, Michael also faced abuse at the hands of his father, Joseph Jackson. With these two factors already in place, it only makes sense that Michael Jackson's life and death would travel such a unique road.

Michael Jackson developed an addiction to painkillers after the notorious Pepsi commercial incident back in the mid-80's. While filming a commercial for Pepsi, Michael Jackson's hair caught on fire and he was severely burned. In the time after, he started taking painkillers, which are highly addictive narcotics. The addiction to painkillers was initially suspected as the reason for Jackson's death. Recent autopsy results, however, are showing propofol as the lethal drug. Rather than a painkiller, Dr. Conrad Murray most likely administered the propofol as a sleep aid.

In the time since his June 25th death, Jackson's music has found resurgence in popularity. Michael Jackson has once again become the world's biggest pop star. Currently, Michael Jackson has several albums near the top of the charts. Obviously, his music has always been the same, but people are once again taking note and remembering the musical genius of albums such as "Thriller" or "Bad."

One has to wonder how the world will remember Michael Jackson years from now. Will it be the memories of the world's largest pop star who was, possibly, the victim of a homicide, or will it be Michael Jackson's music that stands in the front of everyone's memory? A lot of this might be dictated on the outcome of Dr. Murray's investigation and possible subsequent trial for homicide.

Regardless if Dr. Conrad Murray is found innocent or guilty of homicide, the world has lost a pop star and here's hoping that his music lives on forever.
