In the early 80s, Michael Jordan played basketball for University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. During his stint with the North-Carolina team, Jordan won an NCAA title with remarkable a remarkable game-winning shot. At the same college, he also won an award for College Player of the Year from 1983-1984. After gaining notable recognition from NBA officials and teams, Jordan was selected after his Junior season to play for the Chicago Bulls. He was third person picked out of the first round of the draft overall, which was quite an accomplishment.
During his first year with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan won the award for NBA Rookie of the Year. Six years later, Jordan would go on to win 3 consecutive NBA Championships from 1991-1993. During his tenure with the Chicago Bulls, Jordan held several titles including several MVP awards and a 1988 NBA Defensive Player of the Year Award. He also received several endorsement offers including Nike and Haynes. During his career, he also appeared in movies and music videos such as Space Jam and the music video to Jam by Michael Jackson.
During the 2002-2003 basketball season, Jordan would go on to retire for good. In 2006, after 17 years of marriage, Jordan and his wife filed for divorce. Currently Jordan is part owner of the Charlotte Bobcats in North Carolina.
