Michael Vick is Bad Pick for the Eagles

NFL Should Not Have Allowed Him Back in the First Place

Michael Vick was convicted of running a dog-fighting ring and served 18 months in prison. This was a man who supposedly hung dogs from trees and electrocuted them with spark plugs. And now he is signed on the Philadelphia Eagles for the 2009-10 season. This was a bad decision by Andy Reid. Millions of dog lovers will refuse to watch the Eagles this season. They will lose money in ticket sales. By the time this season is over, hopefully Andy Reid will realize that this was a bad decision and he will be gone. It is offensive to Eagles fans to think that we would welcome a person like him.

I do not think he should have been allowed back into the NFL at all. Yes he served his time in prison. But he committed such a brutal crime. Now he will get paid millions of dollars this year, while the rest of us good people are struggling to pay our bills. He will buy expensive cars and live in a mansion. How does he deserve that? I would like to see what he does with that money. Hopefully he will donate a few million to charities like PETA, or the ASPCA. If he does not donate that money to animal charities, I see no reason why he should be getting paid such a big salary. Instead he should be working at a fast food joint. Let him live with the consequences of the decisions he made. Maybe then people will see how people in positions of power need to be held accountable for their actions.
