NFL dog jerseys are just a novelty, and something that is mostly of interest to the really die-hard NFL fans and dog lovers. The NFL website is more eager to let fans create a Michael Vick dog jersey than many retail stores are to sell Michael Vick human jerseys. Some Philadelphia sporting goods stores are still reluctant to put out Vick Eagles jerseys, and are still waiting to see if the Eagles fans' objections to Vick die down after a while.

The NFL, like the Eagles, defended themselves by saying Vick paid his debt to society, and is now working with humane societies. But that excuse didn't fly for many when the Eagles used it, and it likely won't fly now that the NFL is making money off Vick and dogs in this manner.
