Michael Vick Gets Key to City of Dallas

Pete Rose to Be Awarded Congressional Medal of Honor

Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway saw fit Saturday to present Michael Vick with a ceremonial key to the City of Dallas.

Michael, please don't use that key to lock the door, I'm sure a lot of residents would like to leave, now.

Mayor Tom Leppert hasn't done a lot to denounce this unofficial and apparent self-initiated act by the Mayor Pro Tem, other than to call for a review of the guidelines and maybe set some restrictions on council members just running around willy-nilly handing out golden keys to any ol' ex-con who wanders in.

His strongest statement to date is something along the lines of he'd "rather not have seen this happen."

Huh?

The statements the Mayor has made are only slightly less unintelligible than those of Mayor Pro Tem Caraway, who apparently does not have the ability to string more than three words together and still make any sense whatsoever.

Meanwhile, other folks are dismayed, shocked, and yes, outraged that the event happened.

Despite all expectations, the city has not made an official call for Vick to return the key immediately.

Regular readers will already be aware of my feelings toward the NFL and it's decision to allow Vick, a man who tortured and killed innocent animals for pleasure, the opportunity to continue to rake in millions of dollars as a pro football player.

I don't blame Vick for this one, it was evidently not something he asked for. He might have scored a point or two in my book if he'd turned the key down and made a statement about not deserving it, but he didn't. And I haven't seen him shed any tears over those dogs either. But, he didn't ask for this particular recognition, so I'm pointing at one and only one person for this massive miss-judgement: Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway, the village idiot of Dallas.

Well, Mayor Pro Tem Dwaine Caraway says Vick deserved the Key to the City of Dallas because of all the good things he's teaching our kids.

Like what, Mr. Mayor Pro Tem Caraway? That he can commit heinous crimes against helpless animals and still achieve stardom, earn millions of dollars, and even get ceremonial gifts from elected officials? Yeah, let's teach our kids that crime really does pay, and pay well, after all.

Apparently Dallas Mayor Pro Tem Caraway, and many other idiots think Michael Vick is the victim rather than the ex-convict criminal that he is. If Vick deserves a ceremonial key to the City of Dallas, Pete Rose should have received the congressional Medal of Honor by now.
