Michael Vick in Search of an NFL Job & Forgiveness

Michael Vick Will Be Looking for a Second Chance in the NFL This Fall

Vonda Menard
Michel Vick has hopes of returning to work in the national football league. Yet, he may find returning to his chosen field of employment difficult after serving his prison term. Michael Vick's crimes have been well documented, as has his much deserved punishment. The question now is: will Vick be forgiven?

Forgiveness is preached and talked about, it's a virtue many strive to possess. We all want forgiveness when we err or hurt someone, and we all want to believe we are good people able to give forgiveness to those who ask for it. Michael Vick needs to continue to ask for forgiveness and he can only hope people will be willing to listen and grant him another chance.

If Vick is able to return to work in the NFL, his contract will undoubtedly contain a million clauses to protect his new team against any future problems Vick may find himself in, though you hope he's learned his lesson. In the best case scenario for Vick, he'll return to the NFL and have the chance to make some positive contributions to a team. Even if Vick behaves like the NFL poster boy for reformed players, you still won't see Vick jersey's in school yards. Michel Vick won't be the spokesman for any soft drink company's or anything else. That's not to say he should, but I wonder if Michael Vick plays again, will anyone be able to watch him without thinking of what he did?

Michael Vick did horrible, unconscionable things to animals and no one will ever forget it. Any perspective employer must realize signing Vick may subject them to protest and fan backlash. As a fan, would you welcome Vick on your team?

Before Vick can join any team, commissioner Goodell has to reinstate him and it's not clear, when or if he'll do that. If Vick gets another chance in the NFL, it will be his final chance. Michael Vick was once the number one pick overall in the NFL draft, a superstar. Now, the fallen star hopes to just be a professional football player and have one more chance with the NFL and its fans.

I hope Michael Vick's time of incarceration helped him realize how inhumane he behaved during his dog fighting days. I hope he's a changed man, a better man. It would be nice to hear Vick talk about his misdeeds in an effort to detour others from committing the same vile acts against animals. This fall when the NFL season begins, will Michael Vick be on the field playing and will the fans watching see Michael Vick the football player or Michael Vick the criminal?

Good info. I even wrote An Open Letter to Michael Vick to express my thoughts on this matter!
