Michael Vick's Career Could Be Done Not by Retirement but by Force

Bruce Bostwick
The impending trial of Michael Vick's life is about to come head on. The whole dog scandal is about to come head on and it looks to be something that Vick will not be able to tackle and win. Before all of this, he was the Falcons franchise Quarterback but with these circumstances, he is in deep trouble and will most likely be barred from the league due to this. Now, new evidence states and was discussed on ESPN Show Around the Horn that he might have had some involvement in killing the dogs. To have a man be on any team or any profession be involved with it is just ridiculous. Even worse, he has yet to be suspended from the league for the season and should be on all accounts. This person is going to be facing possibly a 12 to 18 month prison sentence assuming he agrees to plea guilty on the charges.

The man had a career going for him and could have been remembered as one of the great mobile Quarterbacks. While he could pass, most of his offense and the way he contributed to the Falcons was more due to his running and being like a running back. Whenever the Atlanta Falcons needed a QB, he was needed. Though sometimes he has been over hyped as the next big thing. Was he overrated? Perhaps he was but as far as the team winning; that was all that was needed the most. Only two times that the team made the playoffs with him as the star. But this team has not seen the Super Bowl since their defeat to the Denver Broncos in 1998, three years before he came to the team.

The trial is coming on November 26th and he will be judged if he is found guilty of involvement on the whole scandal. His co-defendants had all ready plead guilty as charged for the events involving the dogs. Dog fighting should be banned and never been used at all for making money. If Vick is found guilty of money involvement, he could very well be barred from the NFL for the rest of his life. At this present time, he has not gotten that but after the verdict, it will determine whether or not he had anything to do with gambling. The biggest question for the whole thing if found innocent, which is not likely to happen, will any team want this guy on their team? Most likely no one may want him due to his erratic behavior. Knowing full well that it is not in the right state of mind, it would be wise to send him off to counseling. Even with that, he will have to live with it for the rest of his life with this stigma. No one will ever look at him as a football player but a man who for some reason thought about getting involved with dog fighting was a great idea. Thinking really fast, the jury is out and it will be the turning point in one Michael Vick's life.
