Michele Bachmann Asks Why President Obama Didn't "commandeer Boats," Misses Irony
The bleating cow raves about "the government's hands off policy," without even seeming to even get that a "hands off" policy when it comes to corporations is exactly what is behind her and the tea party movement she is so in love with.
Bachmann bloviates "The Administration, they were hands off. They didn't do anything. Where were the boats that could have been commandeered by the government to be sent into this region to deal with that oil plume as it was coming up in the water and destroying marine life? Nowhere to be found. Why? The Administration was hands off on this policy."
Newflash, Teatards, this is exactly what you get when you rely on corporations to mitigate environmental disasters. The "New Right" is knee-deep in B.S. and want to do nothing to guarantee anything or to regulate big multi-nationals that do business strictly to aid the bottom line.
Don't misunderstand, seizing corporate property in this instance might be a very good idea. If oil companies and their equipment were nationalized, it would be a very important step to energy independence. We consistently buy oil from nationalized companies with little concern about "free markets." It's high time we eliminate the gross profit motivations driving energy policy.
But alas, I don't think that's what Bachmann is seeking here. She just wants to be a sanctimonious blowhard and not even attempt to offer real solutions or be part of a functioning government.

Reality? The Tea party Movement started because of the "Progressive" Movement - *More Government or Less Government - Spend more, Tax More or Spend Less and Tax Less - Entitlement or Self Reliance - Ignorance or abject denial - Well lets see, hm, Gitmo is closed, both wars are over, and the economy is thriving (Nope) How's your side doing, Just a little wake up call on reality.
Now that's what a person could call either willful ignorance or abject denial - either way, a dose of reality would serve well. But reality really isn't what tea parties are about, is it?

That is the type of comments posted on the Huffington Post - The Tea Party is growing faster than ever, with more people involved than any other grass roots group in history. I have never read an article from them that refers to "Progressives" as. Progresstards. etc. DO YOU understand how shallow that makes you?

this is just a bad situation and Obama was in a no-win situation.you're right b/c if he had commandeered these boats (which you're right he maybe should have) he would have been accused of being "BIG GOVT" into the private interests. then when the whole thing went to sh*t like it is, R's would have blamed him for bad management. Or what happened could have happened. And it's still bad.
