Michele Kalina, There's No Media Circus. 5 Infants Murdered

Kalina Found Competent

Michele Kalina was found competent to stand trial. Charged with 5 homicides, the Reading, Pennsylvania woman is scheduled for a plea and sentencing on August 4th. Judge Linda Ludgate has barred the attorneys from talking publicly about the case.

Kalina is charged with the death of 5 of her children. DNA results show the infants belonged to Kalina. The infants' remains were allegedly found in her home by her husband and daughter.

A jury recently returned a "not guilty" verdict for Casey Anthony. Much of the public still wants justice. In this case, a mother is accused of killing 5 infants. Outrage described the public at Caylee's body left to rot outside. In the Kalina case, the 5 small bodies were found in a hallway closet in plastic tubs.

As Nancy Grace and the rest of the media took up Caylee's death, the whole world tuned in to see justice carried out. These 5 babies will be avenged quietly. Like so many thousands, these infants met death prematurely, and the media did not miss a beat. What makes Caylee more valuable than the other kids?

Sensationalism. If it is a jury trial, an unlikable defendant and a camera in the courtroom, the media will be there. If a suspect lies, shows pronounced unacceptable behavior and is young, it gets the media's attention. All of the media attention in the world did not bring Caylee back. No attention could have brought these 5 little ones back either.

If the Kalina case had gone before a jury trial, how would the Anthony case have affected the outcome? Would the jury try to guess the media's reaction to their verdict? Would they be led by the media instead of the rule of law? Will anyone ACCUSED of murdering a child be able to get a fair jury trial?

What if Casey Anthony did not commit a murder, but an accident? What if someone else is involved? Who is accountable if the media inadvertently causes someone to hurt Casey, or worse? It seems the media we know today can express their opinion, insight anger and make up facts and "truths" without the nuisance of accountability.

Michele Kalina will probably be sentenced by the judge August 4th. There will be no media circus, and no jury put on trial after the verdict.

You make some great points indeed here my friend. I agree. What tragedies these days against children, but oh, how I would not want to face God on judgment day for these. No one will really get away with anything. Great reporting.

There are some very good points here, I hope the people responsible for the death of those children are eventually brought to justice.

Excellent points! I didn't follow the Anthony trial or Nancy Grace's gruesome recaps. People actually filmed themselves watching the verdict and uploaded the videos to YouTube.

Good reporting. I heard about the Michele Kalina when the discovery was first made, but have heard nothing since until I read your article. Thank you.
