Michelle Malkin Attacked at the Denver Mint

Is Denver a Danger Zone for Conservative Journalists?

Mark Whittington
The protests at the Denver Democratic National Convention organized by Recreate68 have, for the most part, been a bust. But they have provided some excitement for certain journalists. First it was the turn of Fox News' Griff Jenkins. Tuesday it was Michelle Malkin's turn, according to Mashable.

Michelle Malkin is an author, TV personality, and blogger/journalist who runs the news site Hotair. She's a short, attractive, pleasant lady of Philippine descent. And, apparently, she has the ability to rouse the rage of certain leftist radicals.

Michelle Malkin was at an event run by Recreate68 to levitate the Denver Mint building. The event was inspired by a similar event that took place in the anti Vietnam War protest era in which Abbie Hoffman and some members of the Yippies tried to levitate the Pentagon. Despite the Harry Potter impersonators present at the event, the Denver Mint stubbornly remained on the ground.

The event started to turn ugly when radio talk show host and conspiracy nut Alex Jones spotted Michelle Malkin and started berating her about the alleged 9/11 Conspiracy, imaginary FEMA internment camps in Iraq, and other delusions. At one point the mob started chanting, "Kill Michelle Malkin! Kill Michelle Malkin!" Fortunately it did not come to that or to any violence beyond some pushing and shoving.

The incident outside the Denver Mint is not the first time Michelle Malkin has felt the ire of the far left. She regularly gets racist email in response to some column or another she writes, especially if the subject is illegal immigration, about which Michelle Malkin has strong opinions.

Michelle Malkin was the subject of TV host Chris Matthews rage during the 2004 Campaign when the subject of John Kerry's medals came up during the latter's show on MSNBC, Hardball. Christ Matthews started berating Michelle Malkin with question as to whether she believed John Kerry had faked any of the injuries that had gotten him a Purple Heart. When Michelle Malkin tried to respond, Chris Matthews interrupted her, repeating the question with increasing volume and venom. Having worked himself up into sufficient rage, Chris Matthews threw Michelle Malkin off the air. It one of the most churlish displays in TV news history.

If one is a conservative, especially someone who expressing an opinion once in a while, one soon comes to realize that the self-image of liberals as tolerant and respectful of others is mainly a myth. If one is a conservative pundit and one has not been called a racist, sexist, homophobe, or some other insult, one is not trying hard enough.

But now it looks like the insults are starting to escalate to threats of violence. That's a chilling development, because sooner or later the threats are going to become actual acts. Talk about the coarsening of political discourse. We may have seen nothing yet.

I have reported this site for libel and slander

thous who perpetuate these lies knowing full well that it was MARK DAVIS that shouted "kill Malkin" as recorded on multiple camera's and scene live by thousands.

Unfortunately most of the media missed how this event ended and exposed Jones for the coward that he is. Check out my article on the subject http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/991808/judge_for_yourself_alex_jones_confrontation.html?cat=8

Alex Jones is a national hero. He exposes False Flag terrorism and makes movies, all of which are available for free on Google video. Terrorstorm is my favorite, but Endgame is also great! He is sometimes a bit loud, but is peaceful and did not call for any harm to Malkim

Geraldo is obviously no angel, but it does take a con to know a con.

Anyway... Chin up, Mr. Whittington. At least you didn't almost get sued like radio propagandist Mark Davis did on the Dallas Morning News, for libel. I'd appreciate more indepth reports, not the description of what people look on the outside. Remember, looks are deceiving.

    - get your facts straight. Alex Jones, while I don't necessarily believe in his views, was not "berating" her over some "9/11 Conspiracy", as you so erroneously wrote. With a little footwork and intelligence, you'd realize that AJ was calling her out for the things she has said and written, which I mentioned above. I'll give you another free one since it's apparent bloggers these days just regurgitate other bloggers and media shills, Re-create 68 is a violent group of anarchists, they are opposed to Alex Jones and the Truth Movement, they are the ones who incited the violence against Michelle Malkin since the "troofers" or whatever you'd like to call them was not there besides a few of AJ's entourage (camera guys). I can tolerate a Truther, but these hate spreading R68'ers are a bane akin to the KKK, in my opinion.

"Michelle Malkin is the most vile, hateful commentator I've ever met in my life. She actually believes that neighbors should start snitching out neighbors, and we should

"She's a short, attractive, pleasant lady of Philippine descent"

Is this a joke? Even Hilter has been painted in similar light, if only he was a woman! Eh? I digress. Maybe being a journalist, reporter, blogger, whatever, doesn't require to analyze the actions of a person, but what is superficially on the outside. Maybe it's okay for Michelle Malkin to be known as documented "puppy killer" denier, who condoned throwing Americans into FEMA camps, who condoned Japanese Americans being sent into internment camps, who thought an Iraqi Policeman Jamil Hussein, an AP source, was imaginary, who thought a Dunkin' Donuts commercial was terrorist propaganda because a women was wearing a scarf! You can't make this stuff up!

So, it's no surprise Michelle would write at a site called "Hotair" either.

As for Mr. Whittington, think before you write. There is no mention of FEMA camps in Iraq, but there is mention of American FEMA camps - get your facts straight. Alex Jones, while I don't ne

This is a moronic article written for morons. To categorize Alex Jones as a conspiracy nut is ignorant and blatantly false. He is nothing short of a hero to those who are now aware of the perverse corruption that exists in our government and the mainstream media. Furthermore, he is no more a leftwinger than Ronald Reagan and Michelle Malkin is no more attractive and pleasant than was Lizzy Borden.
The FEMA camps Jones refers to are not in Iraq you blithering idiot, they are in the good old USA and they are quite real. And Michelle Malkin stated in her book that she supports putting Americans in those camps for doing nothing more than resembling the enemy just as we did with the Japanese back in World War II.
Fox News is a discredited schill of the neocon military industrial complex and every day more and more Americans are waking up to that fact. Your days of spewing out lies and propaganda are numbered and believe me you will atone for your transgressions.

And Mark, not to put too fine a point on it, but if they want a war, they can damn sure have one. IMHO the only reason they ain't got one yet is cause they ain't pushed the right peeps yet. Anyone wanna buy me a ticket to the Minneapolis RNC next week? And pay close attention naysayers, cause ol' Blowhard's about to blow some smoke here - push me and I promise you'll get pushed back. I'll push back so F'ing hard their mothers will have to close their legs to keep the assholes from getting shoved back into their Mommy's womb. Dreadfully, and entirely at their own doing, I'm afraid it's gonna come to that in order to right the ship. I hate it, but someone has to stand up and remind these anarchists that the US was never what they claim they want to return to. THEY are the ones that are pushing for change, not us. They'll get their change alright. Pity in the process of getting back to what we were, they won't be around to see it.

  • BlowHard 8/27/2008

Ya beat me to it on this one Mark. I was gonna write this same article (same subject - I am not the writer you are, so no disrespect intended) but you git here first. And unlike many of the "I got more page views than you" crowd, I will not even attempt to poorly replicate this fine piece of writing with my blatherings. Good job Mark!
