Michelle Malkin: Ellie Light's IP Address Looks like it Originates in California

Marc Schenker
Michelle Malkin has reported that Ellie Light's IP address looks like it originates somewhere in California. Appearing on Hannity last night, she brought the audience up to speed with regards to the blogosphere's sleuthing efforts in outing this fake, Obama-praising fiend. Based on the efforts of two bloggers in particular-one by the name of Sabrina Eaton at the Plain Dealer in Ohio and the other being a guy who goes by "Patterico"-we know all these details about the incognito coward who calls herself "Ellie Light" and who's nothing but a pro-Obama, pro-Dem spreader of their talking points. California appears a plausible place for Ellie Light because she has also used a California address in her fake newspaper submissions. And if you think about it, what other states besides California would produce the most fanatical, pro-Obama acolytes? I can't think of any others, except for maybe states in the Northeast.

If you're not familiar with the notorious Ellie Light, this is a great time for something of a little primer on "her." Ellie Light could well be a pseudonym, or it could even be a fake person entirely concocted by a well-organized effort by a group or groups to fabricate widespread support for the abysmal, dropping popularity of Barack Obama. In any case, the forces behind Ellie Light are basically a multi-location, well-organized propaganda effort all in the support of Obama and his policies. Ellie Light is actually the pen name used for multiple Letters to the Editor that have begun appearing over the last few weeks in newspapers all across the US. These Letters to the Editor all from "Ellie Light" have appeared in New Mexico's Ruidoso News to across the country in South Carolina's The Sun News and every other conceivable locale in between.

If you're thinking the best of Ellie Light and saying to yourself, "Well, couldn't it just be that Ellie Light is a common name in the same way that John Smith is a common name?" Think again!! Miraculously, all these Ellie Light Letters to the Editor have been "virtually identical!" Coincidence? I think...not! Further, they clearly use deception by always purporting to be from addresses that are, suspiciously, right from within the local paper's circulation area! Now that definitely cannot be a coincidence!

Further proving the theory that Ellie Light is the moniker for a well-organized effort to do propaganda in the name of Obama, all her Letters to the Editor have nearly the same fawning, Obama-loving words of devotional servitude and worship in them that would make worshippers of Chairman Mao jealous. Let's have a look see, okay?

In any given Ellie Light letter, an excerpt will read as follows:

"But today, the president is being attacked as if he were a salesman who promised us that our problems would wash off in the morning. He never made such a promise. It's time for Americans to realize that governing is hard work, and that a president can't just wave a magic wand and fix everything."

The gist to all these well-coordinated "Ellie Light" letters is to downplay Obama's failures and his broken promises while exaggerating what Obama's achieved for the US so far...which is basically nothing unless you count worse deficits, a less safe homeland, and a worse economy as "achievements."

Maybe now with Malkin and the bloggers on the case, we'll soon come up with just who is behind this suspiciously well-planned and widely coordinated attempt to artificially boost Obama's image and ratings. Sean Hannity probed whether it could well be a Democrat-connected person or group, and I am beginning to, myself, think this is the best, potential guess thus far.

Why would these newspapers fact-check a liberal viewpoint? Aren't these newspapers liberal too? You can't have it both ways, you know.... either these newspapers are liberal or they're not.

Hmm there is so much I have yet to learn...thanks for the excellent article Marc!

    Seth, none taken.

However, I wonder why you can't see the fuss. Especially since it concerns dishonesty by Obama supporters to prop up a very weak president by propaganda? Don't Americans deserve honesty? On second thought, these newspapers printing all these Ellie Light letters are all liberal papers anyway (hence, the unquestioning printing of so many of her letters), which means they want to continue lying to the American people (hence, their circulation and subscriptions going down). That actually renders my prior, rhetorical question moot.

I know...right?! This is the first time I've written an article where the actual subject of said article actually "dropped by" to comment on it! Sweet.

  • Langley Cornwell1/27/2010

Good update on Ellie Light. And wow, aren't you lucky that she dropped by to leave you a comment...! Ha.

  • Nadine M. Riggs1/27/2010

    Good article Marc as usual.

  • Seth Anderson1/27/2010

My question is: Why is it such a big deal? Whether it is "astro-turfing" or an overenthused writer, I really do not see what all the fuss is about... No offense, mate.

This is amazing, good work.... :o)

Good article. This bunch of Washington game-players is the worst ever.

The Left stops at nothing to spread misinformation and support of one of the most ineffectual presidents to hit the history books. No surprise the IP address originates on the Left Coast.
