Michigan Corn Mazes

Are you a fan of corn mazes? Do you love getting lost among 8 foot tall stalks of corn, only to spend your day wandering aimlessly through the tall green stalks seeking the way out; the way to freedom? Perhaps you just like to take the kids, send them in alone and sit down and relax. You know it will take a while! Many corn mazes offer night visits both with and without flashlights. Everything looks different in the darkness of night. Warning though, it can get a little scary...you are not the only thing that walks a corn maze at night!

Daytime mazes are great for families with small children. Michigan days can be cold in the fall so you want to go into a maze you can get out of fairly quickly if you need to.

.Corn mazes are made by planting a corn that grows to 8-9 feet and is very dense. You can not easily penetrate the walls of corn, so you will need to stay on the paths Most farmers now have GPS systems on their tractors and they will use this to cut the paths. You will have to go up in airplane to see the whole pattern.

Maps are usually available that will help you find your way through the maze and you can usually find you way out in about an hour. Most mazes also have signs or puzzles along the paths o help you find your way put.

Visit the same mazes at night with just flashlights for a different perspective! I would not advise taking small children into the haunted mazes. You know its not real, but for some reason we forget when we are in the dark, in a field, full of gigantic corn stalks and we don't know how to get out!

Michigan offers a few really nice corn mazes. Most will choose a different pattern each year so you won't have to worry about being bored!

The Flower Farm is located in Bad Ax, Michigan at 236 Pigeon Road. You can call ahead for the details at 989-269-8754. The corn maze this year is a tractor theme, and is open every day beginning on Friday September 18th until Sunday November 1st. they do have moonlight mazes as well, this is where the flashlight comes in handy. Only problem, you have to get started in plenty of time to be out by 10pm.

The Flower Farm will hold haunted mazes on October 16, 17, 23, 24 and 30th. The haunted maze at the Flower Farm will be staffed by groups from non-profit organizations. A portion of the proceeds from the haunted mazes will go to these groups.

The Flower Farm also offers special prices for clubs and groups.

You can purchase pumpkins for carving or painting on the grounds. You can also buy a lunch with ice cream cider and doughnuts!

Atwood, Michigan is where you will find Bolt's Farm Market. It is located on Atwood Road between Atwood and Ellsworth. Operated by Cindy and Russ Bolt, the corn maze is open for visitors in the fall. They can be contacted at 231-588-6384.
