Michigan and Florida Democratic Delegates Could Benefit Hillary Clinton for Party Nominee

Hard Worker
Hillary Clinton has asked that the Democratic National Committee reconsider their decision to strip Florida and Michigan of their democratic delegates in the DNC party nominee process. If Michigan and Florida were to regain their delegates, whom would this benefit? The answer and more:

Well first off; this would benefit Hillary Clinton because she is the biggest advocate for these states to get their delegates. Should the delegates be able to vote, they would look favorably upon Hillary for allowing their votes to count. Obama has been quiet on this issue for fear of alienating the senior members of the Democratic National Committee.

In Florida, Hillary Clinton would have the biggest advantage. She is the senator of New York and many people from New York go to Florida to retire. Therefore she has name recognition among Florida voters and she would probably win the state of Florida.

As for Michigan, it would be a close election and either candidate can conceivably win. I believe that Hillary's campaigning for the votes to count in Michigan would help her tremendously and give her victory in Michigan. In addition, she has the experience factor for delegates in Michigan who are looking for the economy to rebound with a Democratic president.

In the Democratic primary system, the delegates are proportioned to the amount of votes and districts in each state. This style contrasts with the Republican style of winner take all. If both states were to count, Hillary Clinton would probably win both by slight margins of victory, although in a race this close, that small margin of victory helps with every extra delegate.

Florida has one of the biggest amounts of Democratic delegates and this would also help her should she win the state of Florida. The Democratic Party should count the votes in Florida which is a swing state in the presidential election. Florida went to President Bush in the last election by the margin of votes was very small and influence can be accredited to George W. Bush's brother Jeb who was the Florida Governor. If Florida votes don't count toward the Democratic primary, the Democratic Party runs the risk of losing Florida in the presidential election because they alienated potential voters.

In the end, I think that when the Democratic National Committee meets in Denver, Colorado to pick the party nominee, they will count the delegates from Michigan and Florida so they no voters feel disenfranchised with the political process.

Actually if Clinton's bending the rules works in her favor and she gets the Democrat bid, it almost an assured win for any Republican. New Democrats, Republicans turned Democrats and Independents that want to rid the White House of Bush/Clinton and other corruption will not vote for her and have been telling that to the DNC with phone calls, letters and petitions. Sad that some popular Democrat candidates were forced to drop out before the entire country could voice their opinion. Several of them represent the people not the Clinton/Bush we rule mentality and you obey.

Oops "hardworker" didn't mean to cal lyou Nick, was reading Nick Poma's article before yours. So my apologies. If I were a candidate and made a mistake like this I'd really be a screwup, right? -- Mike

First I appreciate the article you produced as neutral and objective, showing all sides, which IS possible in journalism. Hillary was sort of a scab in Michigan, leaving her name on the ballot while all others did not. But the national Democrats made a huge mistake because Michigan Democrats were hugely offended by their Politburo tactics, and if this results in Michigan's 17 electoral votes going Republican in November, and if the Democratic nominee loses thus by less than 17 electoral votes, well, that will be a really brilliant move by the national Democrats, won't it? As for H. Clinton, it seems like B. Clinton is doing a great job of blowing it for her. Is there something deep inside tha t makes him want to do this. He's always been such an odd duck. I believe any objective and fair observer would see as Nick has seen on the Democrat side -- even though he's not going to vote probably for a Dem -- that the Clintons started a mess and drew Obama into it. -- Mike
