Rothbury Music Festival
The Rothbury Music Festival was the first nationally-renowned music festival to take place in the state of Michigan. The inaugural Rothbury Music Festival took place from Thursday, July 3 to Sunday, July 6 of 2008 and drew an estimated 40,000 patrons from all over the world. Highlights of the weekend included musical performances by the Dave Matthews Band, John Mayer, Phil Lesh and Friends, Primus, Widespread Panic, Snoop Dogg, and many more, as well as a number of awe-inspiring art installations and a festival-wide emphasis on recycling.
The 2009 installment of the Rothbury Music Festival continued its focus on recycling and environmentally-friendly living mixed with interactive art and live music. Once again held at the Double JJ Resort in Rothbury, Michigan, performances by The Dead, Bob Dylan, the String Cheese Incident, Willie Nelson, and Umphrey's McGee highlighted the 2009 event. The 2009 Rothbury Music Festival took place from Thursday, July 2 to Sunday, July 5.
Much to the dismay of festival goers nationwide, the 2010 Rothbury Music Festival was officially cancelled, citing lack of available talent.
