As a 2004 Eli Broad College of Business (Michigan State University) graduate, I have mixed feelings on the my overall experience with the program. My undergraduate experience at Michigan State was nearly perfect and I cherish every memory and every class, student organization, etc. However, my success after college has been mixed. Even though I feel that my difficulties in starting my career are due in large part to Michigan's economy, I also believe that supply chain management is still not widely known throughout the business world as a discipline in its own right. It has also been brought to my attention that a lot of companies are using people with engineering degrees to fill supply chain dominant positions.

Once I made the decision to obtain a second degree in Spanish and study abroad, the business school was wonderful in helping me plan out my course of action. They were also good in helping me obtain the necessary permissions to substitute foreign courses for the business core (common courses to ALL business majors). The business school faculty (the supply chain mangement in particular) are top notch. In addition, I can't say enough about the doors that were opened for me within the business school. If you become involved in student organizations within the college of business, you will be richly rewarded.

It is also important to note the importance of the Lear Career Services center, as well as the business school academic counseling program. The Lear Career Services center, which is Broad's own career service center, assisted me in landing an internship, a co-op, as well as lots of useful career skills. The academic couselors within the business school truly assisted in helping me resolve ANY issue that I had with courses. In the end, it was there assistance that allowed me to earn my certification in International Business.

I would highly recommend anyone with a serious interest in business.
