Michigan vacation getaways are abundant in a state that is surrounded with 3000 miles of beaches. Family vacations are taken year round. There is a Michigan vacation getaway for everybody of every age and preference.

Maybe you would prefer a Michigan vacation getaway in the winter wonderland of our gorgeous abundant snow. Whether you want to hang around the lodge cozying up next to a fire or taken to the hundreds of slopes for skiing or snowboarding, the winter vacation spot is in Michigan. Maybe a family vacation fishing the icy waters is to your liking. We even have winter camping in the snow for those who are braver than most.

Perhaps you would like to take a Michigan vacation getaway traveling around the 3000 miles of coastline visiting all the historic lighthouses. Michigan has approximately 45 lighthouses open for tours. Or perhaps you would enjoy a fishing vacation renting one of the many, many fishing charters on the waters of the Great Lakes.

A family vacation camping at one of the 90 state parks is also a nice getaway. Imagine sitting next to a campfire and viewing the beautiful lights at night of the Mackinaw Bridge. The Lake Michigan shoreline is loaded with tons of campgrounds right on the Great Lake. You could be climbing the Michigan Dunes during the day or taking a dune ride and at night swimming in the fresh water of Lake Michigan.

You could also take a casino vacation in Michigan. Detroit has three large casinos right in the heart of the city. There is so much activity surrounding the casinos that booking a casino vacation has many other perks. The arts and entertainment in Downtown Detroit could keep you so busy that you might be able to hang onto some of your money incase the casino runs cold.

If you are looking for a vacation idea, why not consider a Michigan vacation getaway? If you like biking, golfing, hunting, hiking, or boating, Michigan could be your ticket. Plus we should not forget Michigan's great professional sports teams. You can also visit wineries or iron ore caves. You chose. There is a very long list of things to do. Check out Michigan's tourist information bureau for a vacation idea that may interest you.
