Mickey Rourke's First Film: The 1981 Hit Body Heat

Lynda Braun
Fasten your seat belts for a ride into the 1981 Thriller, Body Heat.
Body Heat was written and directed by Lawrence Kasen.
William Hurt stars as Ned Racine, a sleazy lawyer in a small Florida town. Also, the lovely Kathleen Turner stars as Matty Walker, a married woman, who has a passionate affair with Ned Recine,(Hurt).
Richard Crenna plays Turner's husband, Edmund Walker.

But, don't miss Mickey Rourke clad in a tight black t-shirt and tight jeans as the arsonist, Teddy Lewis.
Hurt's character asks him for help in murdering Turner's husband. Rourke is a scene stealer.

"You got to pick the right spot. The right time. You got to try not to get famous while you're in the act".
Wow, listen to these words said by Teddy Lewis, (Rourke). In my opinion, he certainly has picked the right spot and right time to act...Only he did get famous! (Lucky for us)

Twenty-eight years ago Rourke was thirty-one years old and totally captivated us in this movie with his tough guy,
persona. Isn't it amazing how he is still captivating us so many years later? And he is still the tough guy in The Wrestler.

Some interesting trivia about Body Heat:
The film was supposed to be filmed in New York/New Jersey but had to be changed to Florida due to a labor union strike.

Their first day on the set proved to be quite interesting.
Hurt and Turner appeared naked as they were introduced to the crew.
