Mickey's Best Year

Harry Gunawan
Mickey Mouse is grooming before the mirror.
Looking so dandy and fresh,
In his new Chinese red dress.
He is smiling wide and bright,
Shimmering under the lanterns' light.

What are you doing Mickey?
I am fitting my clothes for tonight,
I feel so happy I can sing whole night.
We are celeberating our charming kind,
and all the good traits of mankind.

What is all the red for?
Red is bringing us fortune,
that will never end soon.
So evil spirit, hide away!
And bad luck, go away!

I have invited all families and friends.
Not to forget Jaq, Gus and their band,
From the Fairy Tale Land.
Ratatouille the chef is here too,
Making us the best feast for me and you.

Gong Xi Fa Cai everybody!
You are all welcome to my house,
The house of Mickey Mouse.
Happy Chinese New Year,
The Year of the Mouse is here!

Ups! I forget to add "hey" words, so it would be: "So hey evil spirit, hide away! And hey bad luck, go away!" Anyway, enjoy the poem! Thank you all! :-D
