Burlington, Vermont is a lovely place by nature, so why would they not have lovely handcrafted brew. Personally, I have been to Burlington, Vermont and have tried many of their microbreweries, all of which are spectacular and hard to compare to the many other microbrews out on the market.

The Vermont Pub and Brewery is one of the finest breweries by comparison. Rich with heritage and being the oldest micro brew in Vermont speaks for itself. The Vermont Pub and Brewery is always coming up with new formulas to make a better beer and they have accomplished this repeatedly. My personal favorite is always on tap is the Vermont Maple Ale, which is brewed using the finest Vermont Maple Syrup that money, can buy. This method has paid off because it is by far one of the best brews they have to offer. The Vermont Pub and Brewery can be located at 144 College Street in Burlington Vermont. You are encouraged the next time you visit Burlington Vermont to sit down in The Vermont Pub and Brewery and order a basket of fried oysters and ask the server to pick a beer to complement them. You will not be disappointed.

With their charming and magical names it will be hard for you to pass by the Magic Hat Brewing Company located at 341 Pine Street in Burlington Vermont, The Magic Hat Brewery has successfully supplied over twenty locations in Vermont with their brew. Although they call them elixir and there are several to choose, my personal favorite is Fat Angel Pale Ale. The Magic Hat Brewery offers guides tours as well on Thursdays and Fridays at 3, 4, and 5 p.m. These tours are necessary when visiting this brewery because they are truly fascinating.

Stoudt's Restaurant and Pub is also another great place to visit for fine brew in Burlington Vermont. They have a great selection of food and brew along with a wonderful atmosphere. The Black Angus Restaurant and Pub, also a part of Stoudt's is open daily Monday through Thursday from 4:30p.m. to 10p.m., Friday and Saturday from 12p.m. to 10p.m. and Sunday 12p.m. to 8p.m. They offer a great selection of brew with the finest levels of quality. One brew in particular, the American Pale Ale, has grown to be a local favorite and is very popular among Vermont craft beer seekers and worth trying at least once.

Nectar's Restaurant another local favorite has taken the hearts of many with its location and microbrews starting at $2, located at 188 Church Street in Burlington and open daily from 5p.m. until they lock the doors at 2:30am. One of the most popular brews at Nectars Restaurant is Long Trail Hibernator, brown ale with a surprisingly sweet finish. Nectar's Restaurant offers a live band, dance floor and pool tables, making it a favorite with the locals.

If you are looking for a microbrewery with a little bit of an attitude and a whole lot to offer you should try the American Flatbread. Established in 1985 this little microbrewery offers zero gravity house brewed beer. My personal favorite London Calling is British style pale ale that has a wonderful clean finish. I must suggest though that you do not stop there. You should also try their Evolution Salad; this is a sweetly made house salad with fresh ginger vinaigrette. This salad pairs wonderfully with London calling and all that at an affordable price. The American Flatbread can be located at 115 St. Paul Street in Burlington, open daily from 5p.m. to 10 p.m.
