Open Microsoft Excel. On the lower left you will notice three sheets. They should be the labeled "Sheet1," "Sheet2," and "Sheet3". You can click on the different labels to navigate between sheets. To make any kind of modifications to the sheet in Excel, you right click on the sheet's label and it will bring up the context menu that has different options. In this article, I show you the different options that are available and how to use them.
1. Create a new sheet
Right click on any of the three sheets to bring up the context menu. Click on Insert. This will bring up a dialog box, select "Worksheet", click OK in this dialog box. You will now see another sheet called "Sheet4". Every time you want to create a new sheet in Microsoft excel, you would perform the same operation.
2. Deleting a sheet
Right click on the label of the sheet who would like to delete and click on "Delete" on the context menu. This will get rid of the sheet. Any data you had in this sheet will also be gone!
3. Renaming a sheet
Right click on the label of the sheet which you would like to rename. On the context menu, click on "Rename". The label that represents the name of the sheet will now turn into text that can be edited. Edit this text to display whatever name you want to give to your sheet. To finish this process of renaming sheets in Excel, simply click ENTER or click outside of the label.
4. Move or copy a sheet
Right click on the label of the sheet you would like to move or copy. On the context menu click "Move or Copy". This will bring up a dialog window asking you where you want to move this sheet. You can move it before or after the other sheet in this workbook or you can move it into a totally new or different workbook that is open in Excel. You could also simply drag and drop the sheet in this workbook to a different location and it will still move the sheet.
5. Change the color of a sheet
Right click on the label of the sheet for which you would like to change the color for. The next step for changing colors of sheets in excel is to click on "Tab Color" color in the context menu. This will bring up another window where you can select what color you would like to use for the background of the sheet label.
