How to Create a Beveled Pattern Picture Frame in Microsoft FrontPage
Step 1 - Drawing the Frame
The first step is to draw the frame. Go to the top of your window and click Insert > Picture > Auto Shapes. Click the second icon in the auto shapes toolbar. Then click the Bevel Square. Place your mouse over the shapes to see the names of them. The shape is called Bevel. Draw your frame on your page. You will need to shrink the border of the frame some. To shrink the border, grab the yellow diamond and pull it up. That will shrink the border around the frame. The size of the frame will depend on the size of your photo.
Step 2 - Apply the Pattern
The next step is to apply the pattern to the frame. Click the arrow beside the paint bucket at the bottom of your FrontPage window and click Fill Effects. When the Fill Effects box pops up, click on the Pattern Tab. You can select any pattern that you want for your frame. I selected the Light Upward Diagonal pattern. You can use any two colors that you want for your pattern. I used Light Blue for the foreground color and White for the background color. It is better to use a color that matches the picture that you are going to insert in the frame. Click OK on the box to apply the pattern.
Step 3 - Apply a Border
I applied a border to my frame but you may not want to apply one to your frame. It is your choice. I chose to apply a white border with a line size of ¾ pt to my frame. To apply a border, click the arrow beside the paint brush and select your color.
Step 4 - Inserting your Picture
The next step is to insert the picture that you want to use. Click in the middle of your frame and then click the Insert Picture icon at the bottom of your window. When the box pops up, locate the picture that you want to use and click the Insert button. You will probably need to size your picture down by grabbing the corner of the picture and dragging it inward.
It is best to size the picture to the size that you need in a graphic program. Macromedia Fireworks, Photoshop, and Paint Shop Pro are good programs to use to size your image down. The quality will be better if you size it down in one of those programs.
