How to Create a Burgundy Gradient Wave Menu in Microsoft FrontPage
Step 1 - Drawing your Menu
The first step is to draw your menu. Go to the top of your FrontPage program and click Insert > Picture > Auto Shapes. You auto shapes toolbar will appear on your page. Click on the Stars and Banners icon and then click on the Wave shape. Roll your mouse over the shapes to see the names of them. Once you have clicked the shape, go ahead and draw the menu on your page.
Step 2 - Reshaping the Menu
If you like the big wave in the menu you can skip this part of the tutorial. If you would like to take some of the wave out of the menu, do the following. You will see a yellow diamond at the top left side of the menu. Grab that diamond with your mouse and pull it up to take some of the wave out.
Step 3 - Applying the Gradient Fill
Next, we will apply the gradient fill to the menu. Click on the menu to select it. Then click the little arrow beside the paint bucket. Click Fill Effects when the menu pops up. Your Fill Effects window will pop up and you will need to click on the Gradient Tab at the top of the window. Click the Two Colors option in the window. Then drop the Color 1 box down and select Dark Red. Drop the Color 2 box down and select White. Leave the Transparency field at 0%. Click Horizontal for the Shading Style. Then click the bottom left variant. Click OK to apply the Gradient Effect.
Step 4 - Apply a Border
Click on your menu to select it. Click the arrow beside the paint brush. Then click More Line Colors. When the box comes up enter the following in the Value field Hex={81,13,13}. Click OK on the box to apply the border.
Step 5 - Adding the Links
Next, we will add the links to the menu. You can use any font style, size, and color that you want. Right click inside the menu and click Add Text from the pop up menu. Then type your links in the menu. If you press enter to go to the next line, it will leave a big space in between links. I recommend you hold Shift down and then press Enter. That way the space won't be so big.
Step 6 - Linking your Text
The last step is to link your text. Highlight the text that you want to link. Right click on that text and click Hyperlink from the menu. Then enter the link in the bottom field of the box. Click OK to apply the link.
