How to Create a Green Gradient Horizontal Scroll Menu in Microsoft FrontPage
The first step to creating this menu is to draw the scroll. Go to the top of your window and click Insert > Picture > Auto Shapes. Your auto shapes toolbar will pop up on your page. Click the Stars and Banners icon. Then click on the Horizontal Scroll shape. Draw your shape anywhere on your page. You can draw the menu any size that you need. The size of the menu will depend on how many links you are going to need. You can always resize the menu after you have added your links.
The next step is to apply the gradient effect to the menu. Click on the menu to select it. Then click the little arrow beside the paint bucket. When the menu pops up, click Fill Effects. The Fill Effects box will pop up. Click on the Gradient Tab at the top of the box. Tick the Two Color field. Then drop the Color 1 box down and click the color Green. Then drop the Color 2 box down and click the color Light Green. Roll your mouse over the colors to see the names of the colors. Leave the Transparency fields at 0%. Tick Horizontal for the Shading Style. In the Variant section click the bottom left square. Click OK to apply the effects.
The next step is to apply the border. Click on the menu to select it. Then click the arrow beside the paint brush. When the color box pops up, click on the color Black. Next, click on the Border Style icon. Select the ¾ pt border. If you want a smaller or larger border, click on the border of your choice.
The next step is to add your links. Right click inside the menu and click Add Text from the menu. A text field will pop up on your menu. Type your links in the menu. To make your link clickable, highlight the link and then right click on it. Click Hyperlink from the pop up menu. The Hyperlink window will pop up and you will need to type the link in the bottom field. Then click the OK button. Repeat this step for all of your links.
You can resize your menu by grabbing the dot at the corner of the menu and dragging it in or out. If you have any problems with this Microsoft FrontPage tutorial, please feel free to leave me a comment at the bottom of this page.
