Microwave No Bake Cookie Recipe

Almost everyone loves no bake cookies! Besides being delicious, no bake cookies are quick and easy to make. Besides that, they are relatively inexpensive. This recipe is even quicker than the traditional method, and they always turn out perfect.

Microwave No Bake Cookie Recipe

Place one stick butter (or margarine) in a large (4 quart) microwave safe glass bowl. Microwave on high power for 45 seconds, or until melted.

Add 2 cups sugar, 1/2 cup cocoa, and 1/2 cup milk. Stir with a wooden spoon to mix well. Microwave on high power for four minutes. Remove the bowl from the microwave, stir well, and microwave on high power an additional one minute.

Remove from the microwave and add 1/2 cup peanut butter, 1 t. vanilla, and 3 cups old fashioned or quick oats. Stir well.

Drop by the spoonful onto a cookie sheet lined with waxed paper. Cool completely. (To cool faster, place the cookie sheet in the refrigerator.) When the cookies are firm enough to pick up, they can be placed on a plate and served.

Side notes: If you would like to add other ingredients to this no bake cookie recipe, you could add flaked coconut, walnuts, or chopped peanuts. Just stir them into the mixture when you add the peanut butter, vanilla, and oats. Also, it is very important that you use butter or real margarine. This no bake cookie recipe does not turn out as well if you use a margarine substitute or spread.
